He could make the best Dead Space movie oh god. And Remember Me really is pretty solid other than the combat just being unremarkable. Super cool visuals at certain points, and the time mechanic though sparse is super interesting conceptually. I admittedly tend to like even shitty cyberpunk though so take that rec with a grain of salt. Hell, I even like Escape from LA.

It's awesome that John Carpenter loves video games. It's more awesome that it finally took Patrick Klepek to figure that awesome tidbit out. Kudos, and great list!

I'm sorry, but I loved that game. Oozing with atmosphere, a solid storyline (albeit the narrative can be problematic at times due to the localization), an absolutely incredible soundtrack and the best, yes, BEST art design I have ever seen in a game. It's gorgeous.

Just showed my brother who is a huge Carpenter fan but who has zero interest for video games (he's actually pretty insulting about it - otherwise a good guy). He had no idea how to respond - did a literal double take and then asked if this was real. Awesome!

I was looking at the list and thinking "why Dead Space 3?" for a solid minute before realizing it. Of course John Carpenter would like Dead Space 3, it was basically made for him.

My uneducated guess is that the music in "Remember me" is a large part of why Mr Carpenter likes it so much.

He is one of the people and things that embody my favorite time of life, the 80's. And his sound tracks rocked.

I does not at all surprise me that Remember Me is on his list. His values are going to be a reflection of his life work. Even if some things fall short, I get the idea that game has a uniqueness in it's concepts, art, and protagonist.

Does anybody else wonder what's up with the Far Cry 3 page? It says "First released on January 13, 2013", but every registered release for it says late November or early December 2012, there isn't a single release in January 2013 for it? I'm not going to disagree with putting it on this year's GOTY list, since it was released after all that stuff was finalized last year, but the release dates on the wiki page confuses me.

Still amazed to see this on the site. John Carpenter and Giant Bomb are pretty high up there on the "things that give my life meaning" top 10 list. WORLDS ARE COLLIDING.

It's a decent enough game. I ran into a game breaking bug about 3 hours or so in and just didn't feel like starting over though. Was at launch, so hopefully it's been patched now.

This list is.. A-mazing. I love the fact that the number 6 on the list is actually John's favorite.
