PlayStation Network download speeds have always been horrifyingly slow for me, so I’m happy Sony has made PlayStation 4’s nearly 1GB update for the machine’s launch available already.
It’s easy enough to prepare a USB drive to patch the machine, simply involving the creation of a few specific directories so the PS4 knows where to look. (PlayStation 3 worked this way, too.)

(By the way, I really love that the updates are called PUP files.)
