Take A Look At Homefront In Moving Pictures

See what makes Kaos Studios' latest shooter tick with this descriptive new trailer.

Kaos Studios' new shooter Homefront surprised me a little at E3. I didn't have concrete expectations for the game; the premise about a U.S. homeland invasion struck me as sort of cookie-cutter, and Kaos' previous focus has been on multiplayer sorts of games. In my writeup from the show I detailed a couple of things the game seems to be doing well--well enough, hopefully, to make it stand out in the incredibly crowded cinematic first-person shooter market--and THQ's got a new trailer that summarizes the brief demo I saw.

Biggest takeaway from the trailer is the use of the "drama engine," which has a silly name but makes exciting things, like that jeep narrowly missing your head, happen with regularity. I hope that focused style of action, along with Red Dawn scribe John Milius' contributions to the story, are enough to make Homefront worth keeping track of.
