Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight and I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at some of the best user-created works from around the web. First, I want to thank all of your who heard out the personal request from the staff and moderation team regarding the recent news surrounding Abby leaving the site. If you missed it, yes, Abby will be leaving Giant Bomb at the end of November, but about possible hires and additional lay-offs or site leavings. As I said last week, these are stressful and confusing times and you can avoid adding to that stress by keeping all of what I have written about in mind. With that out of the way, it is worth noting we have a ton of positive news about the future! In fact, let's jump into it right now!
- Here's a quick reminder that the Giant Bomb staff are playing around with Twitch-only streams. Now, don't freak out, as the staff are using these streams to test out new audio and video set-ups and alternate streaming recorders before they debut them to the proper Giant Bomb community. For example, Jeff tried a new emulator core and streamed a bunch of Japan-only games earlier this week. Rorie, on the other hand, used their personal Twitch account to stream to stress test their home internet connection. If you want to avoid missing out on these "secret" streams, consider following the appropriate accounts and enabling notifications. Again, don't freak out if you miss any of these streams as they are mostly technical re-jiggerings for the most part. Nonetheless, keep on the look out for some "interesting" content in the future!
- In case you missed it, Vinny posted another update in the "Official Thread About Site Goings-On!" Use the link to get a better idea about the staff's plans for the previous week and the technical issues they had to work around to make every video a possibility.
- Giant Bomb West has some incredibly exciting news: they are getting a bigger studio! When it is safe to return to the office, the site got the greenlight to make a bigger and better studio for free and premium content. This is also connected to earlier Tweets from Jan of him by himself in the old podcast studio.
