The second installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise follows the life of Ezio Auditore da Firenze as he seeks revenge on those who betrayed his family.
Altair from the start was already an assassin from when you played him in the beginning, and acted much different than they seem to show Ezio being. I would say Altair is probably the better of the to because hes more experienced it seems, but since your combat and such was very restricted in AC1, Ezio can do a lot more overall, and seems to have a much different fighting style than Altair ever did(taking weapons from enemies, spears, axes, using them against themselves). Also, he doesnt seem to be a dick as stated above, he seems more sincere and just overall a better character.
History has aways shown that better technology=a better warrior, and Ezio's tech>Altair's tech. Although it obviously wouldn't be a runaway victory, I think Ezio would take it.
i say altair, cuz i just generally thought he was more badass. it seems he spoke far less than what ezio will do (as seen from trailers and gameplay), and we dunno absolutely anything about altair himself other than that hes an assassin, which sets a whole mysterious atmosphere around him. also, honestly, i think altair's suit is way more badass, and im not comparing the gadgets (big time difference people), i mean the actual design of the suits. altair looks way less fancy and way more menacing
They are both lame. Altair is of Middle Eastern descent. Somehow his family supposedly intermingled with Italians? Seems far fetched for a dude that is part of an organization(and his whole lineage apparently, seeing that Ezio is a member, as well as Desmond now) that fights against Templars that are historically European. I know it's a small oversight, but they give no back story whatsoever, except for this, "Device of supernatural power". Can you be any more vague at all? Can you be any more generic? Why go to all the trouble of setting up what could be a great framework for a story and have it all hinge on some shadowy artifact that you don't bother explaining in any detail at all? Seems like Ubi dropped the ball here. Maybe they can take it a step further and have an American actor play the lead role in a movie about a Middle Eastern/Italian Assasin and he can use a British accent. Nevermind, Bruckheimer already beat them to the punch on that one.
Altair is one of my least favorite gaming characters of all time. he went from being an unbelievable dick to an unbelievable tool. From what I've played (which is maybe an hour) I already like Ezio better.

Ezio can actually change the color to whatever he wants to wear,meaning the player chooses what he/she wants Ezio to wear,and Altair has those plain old white robes.
Assuming you mean "vs" as in who's better, it would be Ezio. This thread is rather pointless and rhetorical. Every generation, Assassin skills, equipment and knowledge are adapted, changed and improved. I need not say more.

I hated Ezio at first, he just seemed too young, nothing like the BA Altair. But then I saw Ezio grow up, he really grew on me. I could see him transform from this annoying teen to an experienced Assassin.
My vote for Ezio, no matter how much I loved Altair.
