Major League Baseball was released on the NES in 1988. It was one of the first games officially licensed by Major League Baseball, though not by the Major League Baseball Players Association. As a result, the game featured MLB teams, but used only player numbers instead of names.
Bases Loaded allowed players to control one of twelve fictional teams in either single player which allowed up to two players, or a full season. The game featured a television style depiction where the player took the perspective of the pitcher.
