UPDATE

The site appears to be down (again) if you get the error message "you do not meet the sites criteria" all you can do is try again later. it would seem keys are going out in waves. i got the same message earlier in the day.

Now i want to say its still a little funky so dont blame me if this doesn work however if you download Origin right now and sign up and then go to bf3alpha.battlefield.com and type in your account name you will get a code to redeem on origin.

Steam is heavenly, and I will never give money towards Origin or EA for their crap. In fact, the only reason why I'd ever give money to EA is to buy myself an online enabled copy of FIFA or PGA Tour for no more than $60 total, or for the SSX series. And yes, I know it's free to sign up. I still refuse.

I downloaded Origin a couple of days ago, and I went to the site and after entering everything, it says that I don't meet the criteria. Any suggestions as to how I could possibly rectify that, by any chance?

This doesn't work, at least not sure fire. Might increase your chances, but from what I know it doesn't work for sure.

the site is down or its extremely limited i got this today also. just keep trying every now and then.

Didn't do anything for me, and this is on an ea account I have had for ages and registered it with Origin.

Yeah, I suppose. Thank you for the info though. Really appreciate it. I wonder what they consider Veteran though. I mean, I have Bad Company 2 registered, I've registered a dude on Battlefield Heroes, and I've also had other EA games over the years. Let's see what happens, I guess.

i have been following this all day. some people are saying yeah you need to have a vet stats of 3 others are saying you dont need anything. i do have a vet stats of 3 so i cant really comment one way or the other.

And.... don't meet the criteria. Anyone happen to have taken a look at the page source? Anything interesting? As for Origin, installed it because *shrug* and it looks a whole lot like Steam with a white paint job. No C&C Generals on it though, so I guess I'll continue to not use Origin and be unable to find that damn game.

Not sure how it works, I got in pretty easily, but two of my friends keep having trouble.

It's an Alpha why would I want to play it.

I signed up for the battlefield newletter 2 nights ago.. checked my email last night to see if anything of importance was sent to me and i almost deleted the invitation. went and got my code and installed the "browser" version of the game.. Funny thing is that it refuses to let me play with my videocard even though its fully updated.. gg ea..

But this feels like a BFBC2 mod. First person anims (mirrors edge) and being able to prone again are some of the few standouts, along with the amazing sound design.

Managed to get an invite. Seems reasonable given my EA acct history. Haven't played Battlefield 2 a whole lot, so its probably based on my crazy amount of EA games or dlc.

dude i cant tell you about 2142 i own but i have yet to try and run it on 7

I won't ever use Origin

I just downloaded origin and logged in with the same EA account that I use for Bad Company 2 and the client is telling me that I don't own any games. Does this happen if you bought the game through steam?

@Shookems: I have BC2 off steam and the same thing happened to me. I don't think it matters though, they're looking at your "vetrancy" which as far as I can tell is stored directly on your ea account.

Vet status doesnt seem to matter. my buddy got in and he has a vet status of 0

It's been a couple days and I haven't gotten anything :( Also, you need to use the CD key from any of the more recent EA games and register them with Origin.

Steam lets you view the cd key if you right click the game and view the key
