Damn was that short. I was let on to believe it was 6 hours or more. Not that I really care, but that's a shorter campaign than in Halo 3. :-(
I guess there's incentive to play through it twice for all the collectibles, so there's your 6 hours.
Edit: Actually scratch that, I miscounted. It took me a little over 4 hours.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Game » consists of 26 releases. Released Mar 02, 2010
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.
Singleplayer campaign took me 3 hours
Thats pretty damn short, I'm getting this for multiplayer but I still want to enjoy the single player like I did the first.
Fail.
I finished MW2 in 4 and a half hours, but I totally enjoyed it as it was fucking awesome. But 3 hours?
Also, I remember Halo 3 being a solid 8-10 hours. That is lengthy by todays standards.
Hmmms... Hopefully the Multiplayer's legs are significantly longer.
Although it DOES seem like the norm is 6 hours or more.
A fine example of short but sweet.
After playing through the campaign, I can now understand the utter hatred and animosity towards helicopters the GB crew share.
Fucking choppers man, I musta died at least 6 times at one point battling two simultaneously on foot while fighting off militia and the like...
Not looking forward to that particular part on hard mode I'll tell ya.

I don't see how you can even consider yourself a man unless you play on hard difficutly all the time. H3 is a n00b who should be pwned. l33t!!11!
" that doesnt matter as long as it is awesome right? "no thats reserved for movies movies and music. not games. the multiplayer better be the fucking shiznit though.
Well, I just did the entire singleplayer on normal today, not wasting any time, and it took me from 10:30am to 4:30pm so.... 6 hours. I then proceedd to play 8 hours of multiplayer so rest assured, theres plenty of hours to be had there.
Random point: Remember Half Life 2? Weird how things have changed.

" @Symphony said:I can understand what you're saying and yeah it's very possible many just rush through it, though difficulty level shouldn't really be a factor. As higher difficulty tends to just mean you have to spend more time hiding and waiting for opportune shots or healing up. It's not like more story is added on harder modes (nowadays, at least). Also, the first Bad Company had a great cast of characters and an interesting story, I don't think it's asking too much to want a well-developed story revolving around those recurring characters (I'm not saying that didn't happen)." @Jeffsekai said:I'm just annoyed that everytime theres a new game people bitch about how long the single player is when chances are they 1. 3 hours seems a bit short. Sounds like the kind of playthrough, where you run past everything and skip all cinematics. 6-10 hours seems to be the general consensus.
I'm only getting my copy in 2 hours from now, so I don't know yet for certain. Pretty sure it will take me 6+ hours to complete though.

that was funny
" Stop playing on easy mode, play on the hardest difficulty, enjoy the fucking ride. "Already beat on normal and hard is the next goal.
I'm going to do hard mode once I pop in my copy (it's on my shelf, calling to me), but I honestly expect most of my time to go toward multiplayer. I didn't get this game for the campaign.

Since it took everybody else at least 6 hours to complete the campaign, the OP kinda looks like a troll to me.
There's 45 minutes of cutscenes in the game. Nah - unless you've broken the game somehow and rushed through the triggers, it just doesn't seem feasible to me. I'm seriously suspicious of your statement.
And I've got another day of wait ahead of me. Damn Euro release date.

6 hours on Vet to beat MW2. So if I can beat it on hardest mode in like around the same ill be satisfied. However i bought it for the mp and not the sp at all.

You hate Mass Effect 2? You bastard!
Although I got to admit, Hardcore is as hard as I want Mass Effect 2 to be. Perfectly challenging, not enfuriating.
Expecting a epic length from a Battlefield campaign? Huh... that's totally the point of Battlefield.
" Took me 4 hours, I died a few times, too. The length felt good to me, considering I wasn't enjoying it that much
Thats what she said
" If you check the trophies/achivments. Its apparent they made the game for multipayer. "Hell the cover says Defining Online Warfare.
" @The_Laughing_Man said:I do not think I have ever seen that many achivments/trophies for online....NOT COUNTING MAG!" If you check the trophies/achivments. Its apparent they made the game for multipayer. "Hell the cover says Defining Online Warfare. "
If you look at the cover this time around there is no sign of the four protagonists of the single player campaign. Hell, there are even gamertags over each vehicle shown on the cover. I think that should give you a pretty good idea of where their focus is with this game.
That being said after having just played through the single player I thought it was enjoyable and about the right length. While the story made little to no sense it's just an excuse for you to shoot people in various interesting environments. However, I have to say I'm getting tired of the the sudden cliffhanger endings in most big budget shooters these days. Can't we ever just wrap a story up guys?
This game's got lasting appeal, but not in the singleplayer. Maybe I'll go back to it a second time, but damn, it was short. Jeff wasn't a huge fan of the singleplayer campaign in his review, either.
I'm not saying you shouldn't get this game. I'm four hours into multiplayer and it's an absolute blast. It runs a lot smoother on PC than did the beta; I had connection problems at first, but fixed them by running administrator mode and manually updating punkbuster. Great stuff, I haven't had this much fun playing a multiplayer shooter since BF2, although it can be a little frustrating at times (die, respawn, die, respawn sort of deal).
