I wouldn't. But knowing I don't have to pay anything, it looks like fun.
Battlefield Heroes
Game » consists of 1 releases. Released Jun 25, 2009
Battlefield Heroes is EA DICE's casual take on the Battlefield series. It features a cartoon-like graphical style and is played from a third person perspective. It is also a "Play 4 Free" game.
Would you care about this game if it wasn't free?
No sir. No way at all. I think World War II, even fake World War II, is a completely tapped setting. However, since it is free, and since they're clearly trying to make this entertaining, and because it does look like a lot of fun, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
No, because then it would most likely run for a monthly fee.
And I'm not going to pay an fee for an online shooter.
If it was boxed or downloadable, I could see paying twenty to thirty bucks for it.
Though asking full price for a multiplayer only game is a bit too much.
"I would, it seems like a more simple WWII TF2.It's actually more complex in many areas, just not many areas people will care about.
"
This seems like the runescape of shooters, or Wolfstien ET what have you that is now free to download.

Basically what COD4 did on a much larger cartoony scale. I will definitely try it out, but SFIV will be continuing to take up my time more than likely.
I would - I've been a Battlefield fan since the BF1942 demo (which was epic for it's time). Of course, I'd have much higher standards for the game if it weren't F2P.

"Actually, in the beta, currently the only items you can buy with "Battlefunds" (buyable currency) are unique outfits and XP/valor point boosters. All the weapons and abilities are only unlockable by playing through the game and leveling. That means the people who spend real money will look cooler and be able to level faster (although I suspect most people's money will go to the latter; who doesn't want to look like a pirate or a ninja?), but they won't have any ingame advantages over other players.I would probably care more if it wasn't "free."I wouldn't really call it a free game. It's more like a restricted features demo."...there will be some paid content (i.e. extra guns, more armor...)"To me, that quote says you will be at a severe disadvantage unless you pony up."
I would still care for the game because I think it's an amazing series. This plays a little more casual than the others in the series though, so I may be less willing to purchase it.
"...it's free? Holy crap, my interest just been raised from excited to mad excited."Grab yourself a beta key and enlist in the National Army today!
Id say Yes i would still care. because then You could unlock stuff instead of paying for it all. Id rather get a lvl 30 dude and Unlock a lvl booster then having to pay for one. Also, funding for more maps, allowed to be on mulitple platforms. Add at least 1 more class. I like it as is and what they have for it being free. I'm not a big fan on microtransactions.
"I'm playing the beta now, it sucks. "That's because you're not playing National Army.
