Nice job, Double Helix Games. When it comes to disappointing gamers everywhere, you never fail to disappoint.
If you thought the movie was a mess that sunk your battleship, think again. This game can be beaten in four hours yet was released for a full retail price of $60, which is considered expensive by today's standards. With poor graphics, it's clearly obvious that this game is not a console version of the board game. There are only seven levels that are criticized for being repetitive. You have to destroy alien jammers every time throughout the entire game with only five weapons: Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle, Alien Machine Gun, and Alien Sniper Rifle. All friendly NPCs have their entire faces covered up with balaclavas and goggles because the devs were too lazy to give them proper facial animations. There is no challenge in killing the enemy ships during the RTS segments. Just spam the missiles and they die. This makes the cards you collected from the enemy pointless except giving your ship more firepower. There is also no additional content such as multiplayer mode or extras. There are no characters from the movie anywhere in this game. They are not even mentioned in the slightest. Also, no story whatsoever. In fact, it has barely anything to do with the movie, other than the fact that it takes place in Hawaii and involved the same alien species. Why even bother making a film based on a sort of board game? Michael Bay never learns from his mistakes...
