Mass Effect 1! The universe they created is breathtaking and the story was great. MDK 2 was very good as well - reminds me that I still want to rebuy that game for Dreamcast. Kotor, Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate 2 were also quite nice. I only played the first couple of minutes of Jade Empire but I intend to play that game soon now that my original Xbox' faulty DVD drive is replace (by a new crystal Xbox :-D)

Baldur's Gate II of course, followed by maybe KOTOR, followed maybe by Neverwinter Nights.

Having only spent an appreciable amount of time with one of these games (160 hrs in DA:O, and about half an hour in ME1), I voted for Baldur's Gate II. I have a feeling it'd be closest to what I'd enjoy. 
 
I've heard nothing but stellar reports on KOTOR, too, though, and if I'd had an XBox, I would've played it.

Last year I was really wooed by DAO, but now that the shine has settled from the franchise, I have returned to my previous belief that KOTOR is one of the best games of all time.  I played it again late last year and it was still compelling and fun.  It's hardly a perfect game but so much of it is so good and it gets the 7 year-old who fell in love was Star Wars all those years ago inside me excited again. 

It was a toss between KOTOR and DAO. But I just prefer the universe of Dragon Age.

Mass Effect. It's my favorite game of all time :)

Dragon Age: Origins. After that I'd pick Baldur's Gate II.

I think it probably holds up.  You're gonna recognise a lot of it because it's pretty much the blueprint for everything they've done since then - especially Mass Effect 1.  Great characters and a great story if you've managed to go this long without having it spoiled. "

I don't think Neverwinter Nights 2 had very much cut content. That game lasted forever.

ME2

I love the Mass Effect series and BG2, but for me KOTOR was one of those experiences I won't forget anytime soon. Such a satisfying game on many levels, even if it's a bit dated today. 

Mass Effect 1. 

Mass Effect 1.  That game blown me away.  Followed by ME2 then Origins probably.  I really need to play Baldur's Gate 2 to see what all the fuss is about.

KOTOR. It actually lets you be truly evil unlike mass effect where ur just a big asshole still fighting the good fight

Mass Effect 1 for sure. Don't get me wrong ME2 is amazing, but man oh man ME1 left me wanting the next game so much more than what ME2 did for me.

Mass Effect 2 probably. Just by an inch though. ME1, DA:O and KOTOR were all pretty close imo. ME2 just got that perfect balance between roleplaying and action and made the brilliant decision to just come up with a naff story and focus on the characters instead.

I'd probably have to say Mass Effect 2 is my favorite, but I also really like Dragon Age: Origins, the first Mass Effect, KOTOR, and somehow Dragon Age: Inquisition has its hooks in me pretty bad...

Mass Effect 1, Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age: Inquisition (miraculously, given that I absolutely despised 1 and 2) bring up the list of "other Bioware games I think are alright". Everything else they've done I've actively disliked or outright hated playing.

Baldur's Gate II, it's not even close. It is my favorite game of all time. Kotor was a great game too though, and though I've never been the biggest Mass Effect fan, II was also pretty good.

Baldurs gate 2 and Mass Effect 2

My favorite is Baldur's Gate 2 for sure, though idk what of that game is bioware and what is Black Isle.

Since Baldurs Gate 2 is probably my favorite single player game of all time it has to be that :P

Im in general not a fan of the "post-EA -acquisition-Bioware" but Dragon Age 3 was one of the their best games in a long time despite all the meaningless side quests and lackluster combat.

I like what the mass effect games were trying to do but they just never came together in a satisfying way for me.

I feel like this should be a poll. I used to think it was Kotor but after recently beating Kotor again I think I was wrong, while you feel most powerful in Kotor I think overall ME2 is better.

I normally don't participate in necros but since I'm replaying Kotor heres my two sense on why its the best: not only is it a better story than the prequels, replaying it now has really dawned on me how much ground work it put down for the Mass Effect series. You have a ship where you're free to travel to different planets all with their own stories and side quests. You assemble a crew where you can talk to them to further their own plot line, some of them have loyalty missions. There's also the whole light side/dark side and renegade/paragon spectrum plus a whole list of things I'm not remembering.
