Seriously, come on. Although it was short, this was one of the best first person shooters I had ever played on the PS2. Visually, it was remarkable, and the gameplay was a blast.
 
Anyone else think that somebody should make a Black 2? Maybe title it "White"?

1. Find red barrel.
2. Shoot red barrel.
3. Rinse and repeat.
4.???
5. Profit. 
 
This was not a very good game.

I never played it, but I wouldn't call it White. Simply for the reason that somehow, somewhere, someone would call it racist.

Supposedly, Criterion has it in the pipeline.

Never played it because the boxart just seemed too vague in conveying what it was about.  I mean sure guns and stuff, but I dunno.

The box art was a great representation of what the game was about. Guns, explosions, and more guns. "

while it was visually stunning for a ps2 game i found it to be a 'by the numbers' fps and pandered to too many cliches of the genre such as exploding barrels. the story was a total mess too.

i LOVED black, it was a short, absolutely  insane ride. shame there was no multiplayer, but it was so much fun, i would kill for a sequel

To be fair i bought it cheap recently and it was fun for a while but then i got bored. Mostly because no checkpoints = horrendous fail

I never got round to buying Black, sounds like I might of missed out big time

There's a game that's basically a sequel to this game. It's coming out in the near future, if someone can help me with the title...

Bodycount.

Black was awesome. Sure, it had the shoot-the-red-barrel gameplay for some parts, but other times (especially on Black Ops mode) it was a diamondcore bitch that was just the right side of infuriating. I understand how it's not everybody's cuppa, but I loved it. Chuck in the fact that the Xbox version had the option to use a customisable soundtrack and it was pure pew pew fun to me. Shooting the place up to stuff like Andy Page's Serpent was ace.
 
That said, the FMV story was wack, and I had zero idea what was going on. Quite frankly, I didn't care either.
