A spiritual successor to Koji Igarashi's games in the Castlevania franchise, led by Igarashi himself and funded through Kickstarter. Control the mysterious "Shardbinder" known as Miriam in a demon-infested 18th century England.
It's kind of amazing to see a game in actual development like this. I never watched the Double Fine documentary so maybe it was just like this but this is all new to me.
Also it's double as amazing that he's using the keyboard to play.
Even as a blurry mockup I'm glad to see it using the colors of the concept art. As someone who replays the GBA Castlevanias every so often, I have high hopes for this to be another fun entry, too bad that it's so far off.
Also, something about seeing what I presume to be the develpment team all lined up with some having their hands in their lap was funny to me. "The boss is here for inspection, be on your best behaviour".
I am incredibly excited to see this game starting to form, i still cant get over just how humble Iga is in person, i always assumed he would be a crazy man like Itagaki. I'm glad the kickstarter has become so successfull too, if we continue along this road it will force publishers to take note and consider the genres that they consider played out or in the past. There is a need for these kinds of games to stick around and im glad that he is still keen to make this happen.
