This game is a complete disaster and the controls are the worst part.

What were they thinking! This game is an insult to every Dracula fan, One of the most important aspects in a videogame is the gameplay and the players must feel comfortable with the control mechanics or at least enjoy the game. Well this is not the case, sadly. This is one of the worst games i have ever played for the sega genesis/megadrive and it's a shame that they ruined the whole game with a boring and repetitive gameplay, a really unforgiving difficulty not because of the challenge, but because of the terrible controls. I mean there are some very hard games that are very good like Contra Hard Corps or Super Ghouls n Ghosts for example, but this one is a very bad game and you will not enjoy it at all. Most of the games give you a short recovery time after receiving damage so you can at least recover, but in this garbage you can die in 1 second even having the energy bar full.

A lot of things ruined this game, hidden spears that appear from nowhere, a ridiculous hitbox detection, uninspired and awful boss fights with no strategy involved, very bad storyline and a very mediocre level design. The Genesis and the SNES version are both similar to each other, so don't bother trying both. I will not recommend this game in any way, stay away from this abysmal game even if you are a dracula fan, and please try a much better dracula related game called "Castlevania".

They ruined a good idea, and this game ended up forgotten in time for several reasons. If you don't believe me, watch the avgn episode.
