Overview
Brown Dust takes place after the assassination of the Emperor by his most trusted general Fabian. Players join the game as Fabian's son and lead his group of mercenaries in search of the truth behind his father's actions. Recruit and field a team of mercenaries for battle against various enemies as well as against other players in this tactical mobile strategy game!

Game Modes
Brown Dust has several game modes which can be separated into two categories, PvE and PvP. An overview of the game modes are as follows:
PvE Game Modes

| Campaign | Covers the story of Brown Dust and explores the reasoning behind Fabian's assassination of the Emperor. Also includes side stories of other characters. |
| Evil Castle | Tower consisting of multiple levels with different challenges players must complete in order to continue. |
| Rune Temple | Farm rune pieces and materials to equip and give a boost to mercenary stats. |
| Crystal Cave | Farm crystals to awaken mercenaries granting additional stats and an additional skill. |
| World Boss | Battle alongside other players to defeat difficult bosses each day. |
| Co-op Raid | Fight with three other players to take down raid enemies and bosses for soul gear. |
PvP Game Modes

| Arena | Set a team of mercenaries to battle against other players' mercenary teams. |
| Novice Arena | Similar to Arena but only 3★ and 4★ mercenaries are allowed to participate. |
| Guild War | Participate with guild members to fight against other guilds and climb the rankings. |
| Mystic Island | Form teams of mercenaries to farm Mystic Dust and materials while defending against other players' attacks. |
| Underground Arena | Face off against other players live during specific times of day. |
