The fourth main Call of Duty game ditches the World War II setting of the past games to tell a story set in contemporary times, and backs it up with a breakthrough multiplayer mode.
this game is fucking impossible
First Call of Duty? First console FPS? It's not terribly hard, just dont go crazy and run into fire - take it slow but do press forward. I think the only level I had really had time on is when you have to kill that dude right at the begining of the level then make it to the evac point and wait for almost a year for the heli to come and rescue you....it was ridiculous.
did you jump straight into veteran? if so, yeah it does that to you
I really had trouble on that carnival level on veteran. And also on Mile High Club.
waiting for that fucking helicopter on the fucking carnival was a serious pain in the ass.
Here's your problem: "I almost throw my controller to my tv"You're playing a first person shooter on a console. [more]
I have anger management issues. :(
Mile High was not the biggest problem for me on Veteran i restarted that bit like 6-7 times. But the last level and the end of the level in russia (the playground) fuck sake they where some hard parts. Kept dying and dying until i found a way to position me.
Played through Veteran on PC. Had troubles during Carnival area or whatever it was when waves were coming spent HOURS on that. But i've been playing shooters on PC for years.
As long as you accept the fact that you will die dozens and dozens of times- you will be at peace with the game, and more importantly you will never have to play through single player again after beating Mile High Club on veteran.
Other than on Veteran, I didn't find Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare all that difficult. I died a few times, but that was from my own careless mistakes and not due to the level of difficulty of the game.
" I didn't find it to be too bad...I think COD: WaW is much worse with its rainstorms of homing grenades. The only mission in COD4 that bugged me was one of the final missions and that's only because you're given a strict time limit to complete an objective. "Bah, that mission and the helictoper oriented mission were absolute hell. On Veteran, of course.
" Here's your problem: "I almost throw my controller to my tv"You're playing a first person shooter on a console. "Hmm... sounds like he's preparing for Natal. Haha.
Anyway, I've still never finished COD4 on veteran. Heck, I haven't played it since I rented it back when it came out. I finally bought it for Christmas and still haven't played my own copy. Yes, that makes me a terrible person. I am very much aware. Regardless, I totally loved playing through the campaign. I really can't imagine finishing that Ghilli level on veteran, though. I had one heck of a time even beating that one on the normal difficulty. Though I had managed to get through about half of the missions on veteran during the rental period... so maybe someday. I still haven't ruled out the possibility.
Hide in the ticket booth and throw grenades back when they drop by you. Let your bro do the rest of the work.
Unless you're jumping straight to a higher difficulty than you should be playing, then yes, the game can be hella frustrating.
Try it on a lower difficulty. It's really not that hard.
Have just started it on Veteran and made it through the first two missions (which aren't too hard on Verteran) but am taking it slow and steady through the other mission and am gradually making process. Truth be told I found CoD: WaW more difficult in that it seemed to increase significantly in the number of grenades that lobbed your way, particularly in the number of grenades that you could do nothing about
I was playing through COD4 on Veteran until I got American mission after you fly in on a helicoper and you are taking out terrorists from a second floor building. I changed the difficulty after I died for the twentieth time. :p
Playing COD4 on Veteran exposes all the flaws in that game. The obvious scripting, the worthless AI companions on No Fighting in the War Room, who refuse to move forward until you do, despite Captain Price being the fucking commanding officer, the infinite respawns, and the general game-ie-ness. You win because of exploiting glitches and limitations in the AI, not because you played strategically or anything.
Completed this on Veteran today - first COD I've ever done so. Wasn't too hard, a couple of frustration sections but I just pushed through and managed to do it all. Mile High Club is pissing me off, though. Furthest I've gotten - with time remaining - is the stairwell at 15 seconds. Would be so much easier without the time limit but with it it's nigh on impossible. I need to do it, though; for the 1000 gamerscore!!!

Once you get through veteran its actually easy you see how stuff worked and how you should have done things.

Do you have a point to make about FPS's on consoles. I assure you that console shooters are just as good as PC ones.

I dislike very much when people get snobby about how PC shooters are untouchable compared to consoles. Sorry

This wasn't nearly as bad though, 1 month. Yesterday there was a 1 year old thread that got bumped.
" Here's your problem: "I almost throw my controller to my tv"You're playing a first person shooter on a console. "Elitist.
Yeah... I feel ya. Haven't played CoD4 but when I was on my "perfect" MGS4 playthrough which is no kills/continues/rations/alerts, under 5 hr. playtime, and big boss extreme difficulty I was so fucking pissed off.
The bike chase = a joke
Lol, didn't think it was worth the stress to play on Veteran. I played it on Hardened and thought that was a great difficulty to fun ratio. I watched as my friend played through the game on Veteran, and it was HILARIOUS how many times he died. Also watching how many strategies he used to try to finish that fucking Ferris wheel stage. He gave up at the Mile High Club though... lol, good stuff.
"I almost throw my controller to my tv because of this fucking game, good god, it's hard as fuck, and the worse thing is the ai of your partners, they're fucking retarded :B "That first part needs to be immortalized. "I almost throw my controller to my TV". I would wear a shirt that said this.
But really, the game didn't seem that hard to me. The carnival part was easy if you properly placed the claymores you were given.
Yeah, I jumped into veteran when I first got my cod4. Just stay calm, let the bad guys shoot the a.i. instead of you. And use the sniper rifles alot to take enemies out from afar.
Also instead of getting mad whenever you die, just realize that's it's part of life, (and the game) and think about how you died and try to prevent it. And if you do get mad, then that should be the time to walk away from your console. Because when your mad, you don't think. And in Call of Duty 4 you need to think alot!
Hope this helps.
