I've just been able to buy a PC copy, to my amazement. Is it fine if I play the singleplayer - is it just the MP I need to be concerned about?. I've yet to get home to install it.

edit: Steamworks : / - I'm not fussed, can't wait to play the singleplayer though, that's what I'm in it for. I hope it's a s good as MW's.

I am not sure. From the press release it sounds like it is just the multiplayer you shouldn't play before. Also isn't that just a microsoft thing? Even so, you are playing on PC. Just disconnect from the internet when you play, then they wont know a damn thing.

I thought IW said it was fine to play CoD early. It's only MS that you have to worry about, but I thought that was only on the xbox.

I'll be playing the campaign first when I get my copy.

I assume Campaign is good to go as soon as you get your copy.

It has to be installed via Steam. It' doesn't list recommended specs, but the minimum is nice and low - E6660 / X3 8750. 16GB HD / 8600GT

I doubt it will work. Steam will tell you to wait for the release date.

If it's a Steam game it probably won't let you play it yet.

If you want to risk account resets and/or bans, play the multiplayer.

Otherwise, I'd say "crank that single player up to Veteran and get your Price on!"

just play it if you got a legitimate copy, Robert Bowling already said they won't ban the legitimate players with early copies of the game.  But yeah the PC version is a steamworks game, it probably has a release date check.

It wont let me install :( ....It's no big deal, I'm just glad I've got the game so easily. With MW2 I had a fair bit of woe getting a copy.

It makes no difference, the PC game is tied to Steamworks and will only let me preload for now. 360 owners can play singleplayer, but not PC owners.

Im playing single player and multiplayer on 360, guaranteed I will not be banned lol. Its too bad its linked to steamworks.
