Charm, Challenge, and Charmander
From the same team that made Reccetear, as well as the team that translated it, Chantelise offers a nice value, and if you don't mind too much anime in your Zelda, there's an amusing tale of two sisters in this game of personality, challenging enemies, and replayability.
In a classic Zelda 64 format, Chantelise is an adventure through various dungeons with bosses waiting at the end of it, and it has enough challenge where you can't be asleep playing this. Each level, which vary in a nice way in that a mountains, castles, and forests all feel distinct in their layout. A nice thing about this game is that, like the levels, the enemies are specific and widely varied in their behaviors and weaknesses. There are also trackers for speed runs and secret items gained through often-time obscure methods. So you have the option to blow through them quickly ignoring everything (in the first run all enemies must be killed) with the option of going back to 'master' the level. The sometimes obscure treasure hunting also applies to bosses wherein you could beat them like normal, or in a more creative way (blowing off the arms first, using the full environment, etc.) for something extra.
The dialogue is amusing but also short enough to keep you moving, and with light-hearted characters throughout, the journey is fun and interesting. This is not a huge game, but the assets that are there are individually and carefully focused in their use to create a nice and charming experience.
*It's come to my attention there is in fact no Charmander. This should not affect your decision in purchasing this game.
