Overview

Close Castles is still under development, but it has been shown off at a number of trade shows and meetups. It pits players against each other in a simple sort of real-time strategy where each sends troops to destroy the buildings of the other players.

The start of a four player free-for-all.

Close Castles is a multiplayer only game. It can be played 1v1, 2v2, or 4 player free-for-all. Each player in Close Castles starts in one corner of the map. Using the face buttons of the controller players spend their gold to build offensive, defensive, or economic structures. Offensive structures must also have a path draw for their soldiers to follow. The goal of the game is to destroy the opposing player's castle.

List of available structures

Tower - a defensive structure that will fire and kill one attacking soldier in one of the tiles surrounding the tower periodically.

Mine - an economic structure that must be placed on mountain tiles (not available on all maps) and provides the owner a higher income rate.

Barracks - an offensive structure that will spawn an attacking soldier periodically. The player must draw a path from the barracks to the desired target using one of the controller face buttons. If two players on opposite teams have soldiers that occupy the same tile they do not stop to fight one another but continue onto until they reach their target.
