    Overview

    Darkfall: New Dawn is a sandbox MMORPG, based on the original Darkfall (which was shut down in 2012). The game was being developed by a group of former players who obtained a license from the original developer.

    In summer 2016 the game was made playable in an 'InDev' state for those that pre-ordered it. The game officially launched on January 26, 2018. Servers went offline later that year following the insolvency and liquidation of its developer.

    The original game had been simultaneously licensed and relaunched separately as Darkfall: Rise of Agon by a different group of players. As of June 2020, this version is still running.
