Denki is a Digital Toy company, based in Dundee, Scotland. It was set up in March 2000 by four former members of DMA Design.
Denki's first product, the innovative puzzle game
Denki Blocks! was released in October 2001 and won 'Overall Best Game of the Show' and 'Best Handheld Game of the Show' awards at ECTS in 2001; it was also nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts award in 2002. This was followed by
Go, Go Beckham in 2002.
The company then moved into developing games for interactive digital TV on behalf of Sky TV (UK) and DirecTV (USA), creating over 180 games over the next eight years.
Denki also provided game design and audio consultation to Realtime Worlds for the widely acclaimed Crackdown.
In November 2008, Denki announced that they would begin producing console games again, initially for Xbox Live Arcade and Wii. This was followed by the announcement that
Quarrel was in development for Xbox Live Arcade, along with another, as yet unannounced project.
