    Destructible Cover

    Concept »

Destructible cover is an increasingly popular feature in shooters, even those without cover systems. It is used to encourage creative tactics both in single-player and multiplayer.

Favorite "first game appearance" credit in a concept!

Space invaders as destructible cover? Genius!

Those red boulders aren't very durable!

Favorite right first appearance is Gotcha! under controversey.  I like how they thought joysticks would be too phallic - so they put in something else stupider and more controversial for the controls.

Favorite wrong first appearance is Mortal Kombat as the first game with a palette swap - I guess whoever put that in never played a Nintendo RPG before.

He has a point though. Outlaw came out before space invaders and had destructible cover. Snide was wrong.

Snide was just retelling what the page indicated. I don't think Snide set that as the first appearance. :)
