That pacifist achievement sounds ridiculous. How would you even accomplish that? Sneaking? Or do you have some sort of like sentry drones that you can use that don't count?

I'm excited that achievements exist for not killing anyone (apart from bosses) and not setting off any alarms.

That means it must be possible, therefore, there must always be a peaceful option. RAD STUFF.

    Not really.
Playing through the leaked build, it's actually a very viable way to go.
I would even say that's the preferred way to go.

You have several weapons that only disable enemies, a short range stun gun and a long range but slow acting dart rifle for starters.
Plus there are non lethat melee takedowns.

Surprised at the incredulous responses to the total stealth, pacifist achievements. Seemed to me in the first and third Splinter Cells as well as with most of the Metal Gear games that this was very possible. I've even managed to do this with the leaked beta (which convinced me to preorder it).

@weeman105: maybe cloak ability will be ridiculously powerful 100 times than crysis 2. that's why it is in an achievement list as I guess. I think that it's possible.

Them achievements look great! No arbitrary bullshit, just more incentives to do multiple playthroughs and use a different approach each time.

I am stoked for pacifism achievement.  To you guys asking about it, some people take pride in that kind of thing.  See here:

    http://www.ifc.com/news/2010/11/fallout-new-vegas-gets-beaten.php

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=24221124&postcount=9108

And this article may have been written by a giant bomb forum member:

    http://www.offdutygamers.com/2011/01/pacifist-playthroughs/

I'm pleased that developers are rewarding a wide variety of roleplayers.  It is called a roleplaying game...it is always gratifying to be able to, you know, play a role other than "run here, shoot that."

There is an insane amount of story/setting ties to the original. Brands and important names can be noticed right in the intro. And diligent players will quickly recognize important characters.

As for more abstract referential material:

    • the first hack during a mission has the code 0451
    • you get told on for visiting a ladies bathroom

Oh, I know the main plot ties in very much to the original. I was talking about some more off-the-wall references.
Good stuff there. I also hear that some of the guards whistle the original theme.

now that is a great list of cheevos.  story driven ones, upgrade ones, and it encourages multiple play throughs.  not that you'll really need it with this game i imagine.  and they each have a decent score too.

He might have killed someone he thought was a boss but wasn't.  Like Sanders maybe?  I love the foxiest achievement, just goes to show my hypothesis was right, they pretty much aimed this game to be metal gear solid gameplay smacked together with deus ex RPG/character customization elements.

Looks like a good list.  I wonder what the secret 25 are.  In any case I'll save actively trying achievements for my 2nd run through.
