I'm leaning toward Barbarian for preference. Of course there will be more classes later though.

I'd like to try Barbarian in hopes that melee classes (and their respective builds) wont be so horribly gear-dependant.

I'm not worried about that. Blizzard is one of the very few developers that I trust will sort everything out. They always do.

out of those two, def going to have to go with the witch doctor for the cool looking skills. The barb looks like a hulk smash kind of thing.

I am leaning towards witch doctor because i have played melee soo many times now. I just think spellcasters are more fun to play at the moment... plus i don't think they are able to remove (lighten it enough) the barbarians gear-dependancy enough without completely overhauling the item/combat system.

fx you have a base damage determined by your strength and weapon type. The weapons will then give you various buffs. They will have to tune these to make sure the Barbarians require the same tier of gear to beat the various enemies as other classes. without making it seem like all classes are the same...

I didn't like the necro in Diablo II but the Witch Doctor looks interesting, but I like melee classes so I will probably play as a barb more often.

Witch Doctor looks pretty sweet.  Can't wait to see the other classes.

Out of the 2, i'd take the witch doctor but from the entire game it has to be the SORCERESS

I loved the necromancer and I'm upset that he is gone. I can't count how many times I have made a summoner since 1.0.

I'd personally like a warrior more like the one in Diablo 1 then the Barbarian. However, between the two classes right now I'd probably go with the barb just because of how awesome everything looks when you smash em with brute force.

Witch Doctor -- I'm always jumping at the new classes in these games.

I'll wait for the other classes for my decision to be made.

I think i'd go with the barbarian since I have one in diablo 2 and like it.

Both look awesome however I'm more of a Barb player.

They haven't actually confirmed that the Necro is gone. It does look like there is no need for him anymore, but they never said that.

I really want to try out the Witch Doctor, mainly because it's a new class that wasn't in the original. That being said, the Barbarian might be the more refined and fun to play class. Regardless, I'm really itching to try out the Witch Doctor.

The barbarian at the beginning of the demo looked like Kratos from God of War to me. Heh.

The witch doctor looks more interesting to me, being a totally new class and all. Seems like a good fit for the Diablo universe as well. The barbarian is already in Diablo 2 and he looks pretty much the same now so I don't know.

I still think Barb, but it looks like at the upcoming Blizzcon we'll see some new classes.

My Fav class from Diabo 2 was the Necro,  so at first glance the witch doctor seems to follow in somewhat the same path.  After reading what the dev team said about the witch doctor ( how its more of a direct damage class then a pet class)  I am not sure.

I would think the 3 trees for the Witch doctor to be fire/ pestilence / minnions  but who knows.
