DJ Hero 2
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
DJ Hero 2 adds freestyle scratching and crossfading, as well as scored vocal gameplay to the mix in this DJ-ing rhythm game.
DJ Hero 2 Spinning Into This Fall
Activision dropped the first info on the follow-up this morning, formally confirming the sequel that publisher brass have been mentioning not-so-subtly in interviews and financial conference calls since the release of DJ Hero, the highest-grossing new IP of last year. (Gee, why is that? Maybe because the game was so pricey upon release?)
More than 85 artists, including a veritable odd couple of pioneers including Dr. Dre, Lady Gaga, and Metallica, will headline the once-again peripheral-based game. Deadmau5 will appear in the game as a playable character. If you'd like an sample of the music, jump on PSN or XBLM now. A mix from DJ Hero 2 featuring Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Deadmau5's "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" is available as free DLC for the original DJ Hero until June 14.
A collection of new multiplayer features are planned around the unique tracks in DJ Hero 2. This includes DJ battle, a head-to-head competitive scoring mode, and Party Play functionality (made popular in Guitar Hero) that will allow vocalists to spit mad rhymes alongside on-screen lyrics.
If that isn't enough--and I really can't imagine anyone that already owns a plastic turntable isn't down at this point--Activision is promising a "heightened level of creative input" via freestyle scratching and sampling.
Lastly, in a rag-to-riches kind of deal, the new "Empire" campaign mode will have you scratching your way to the top, literally, in an attempt to become the head of an "entertainment empire."
DJ Hero 2 is confirmed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. The game will ship by its lonesome and with a microphone plus turntable package. Activision has also confirmed a party bundle, a set with two turntables and a microphone, which will be available with the game this fall.

I might actually check this one out! Never played the original. Wonder if NSG is helping out with the mixes again.
I might as well get it, I'd hate to see my DJ hero turntable end up in the same place as my beatmania turntable and my Taiko drum master drum.
Awesome, I loved the first one, and while Deadmau5 isnt as awesome a playable character as Daft Punk, that's still cool
deadmau5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whats funny is he doesnt like being called a dj - its in his first line in his bio

Well, your locked in once you bought the god damn peripheral and the first game for £90. Deadmau5 is a sell -out and definitely no Daft Punk, they also had DJ Shadow in the first game. Hmm fingers crossed for Justice, Shinichi Osawa and Digitalism in mixes and as playable characters. Also, this better be in the game!
This is a vast improvement on the original, maybe this time I might actually pick it up (depending on pricing for the new RB Keyboard peripheral.)
I'm going to wait until they release the track list. Metallica and Lady GaGa remixes don't sound too promising. Looks like they might be be trying to target everyone with this rather than fans of dj-ing and dance music.
I really liked the first one, even if it wasn't very fleshed out. It seems like maybe they are going to do more than just throw songs into setlists to play this time around so I'm in.
