    Overview

    Djura, the retired Hunter.
    Djura, the retired Hunter.

For many Djura is most likely to be encountered as an antagonist. Upon entering Old Yharnam Djura calls out to the player telling them to leave. Should the player continue onward he will compliment the player's skills in beast hunting, and that he thusly must try to stop him/her. He is perched on top of a tower operating a stationed minigun, which he will use to try and kill the player from his position. Upon reaching the tower and climbing up to his position, the player can now face off against Djura. He is equipped with the Stake Driver and a Hunting Blunderbuss, and like most Hunters is extremely aggressive and can withstand a lot of punishment. Though due to the small size of the arena, and the aggressiveness of Djura, it is very likely that he will accidentally fall to his death during the fight.

When defeated, he will drop a badge that'll unlock the Stake Driver weapon in the store. Should he have fallen and his loot is inaccessible, quitting and reentering the game will have the item respawn back at Djura's default location. Killing Djura will also give players access to his Hunter attire, which can be purchased from the Insight store.

Djura can potentially be made into an ally, however. Players must first of course not kill Djura and instead continue onward to the Blood-Starved Beast boss. Killing the boss will then spawn in Snatcher enemies, which if killed by one will then have the player taken to the Unseen Village. Killing the Darkbeast Paarl boss and climbing up to Djura's tower via the now unlocked shortcut will instead have him open to conversation. He will explain that he gave up his life as Hunter and protects Old Yharnam after discovering that the beasts used to be people. He will ultimately pose a question to the player, asking if s/he'll leave the beasts alone or if they'll continue the hunt. If the player states they'll leave them alone then Djura will cease attacking the player, and will give them the badge to unlock his Stake Driver weapon as well as the 'Brush Off' gesture. However his attire can only be unlocked if he is killed. Even should the player state they'll not harm the beasts, the beasts will still be hostile to the player when exploring the area. Attacking them will then make Djura hostile once more.
