Double Fine Raises $1 Million for New Adventure Game
I like this idea. However I hope it doesn't get out of hand or stupid like many ideas tend to get when lots of money is involved.

The video for this is kind of hidden in the logo on the kickstarter site, for those who didn't bother to watch it, here:
(it's great!)
That video convinced me to put in 15$. I'm not even an adventure game fan. I was too young when they were the big thing, but I watched my brother play them all the time.
Tim Schafer's mad genius didn't hurt to push me over to help out. Hell, Double Fine has indirectly provided some of the best Giantbomb content. That has to count for something.
I guess I'm playing an adventure game in October at this rate.
Edit: Jeebus, another 15k from when I put in my money to when I finished this post. That was 15 minutes at most.
Cool. Now promise me it is an actual point and click title and you have my money.
If you pull some direct control bullshit I´m gonna kick your butt.
Backed for $15. It'd be more but I really need my money right now for various reasons.
This warms my heart.

400 grand in 33 days? That seems like an impossible amount of money...But good luck to the Double Fine guys! Wish them the best!
It looks like they'll be hitting that number today! Amazing!
I pledged $100. Looking forward to the game!
The amount of money they have already received is insane! I'm really happy for the Double Fine guys.
Pledged 250 buckazoids. Easiest game/money related decision since Vanquish came out.
This is about as awesome as it gets. Now if only someone would start up a Tie Fighter or Freespace kickstart.

Unbelievably, after one day they're at 350,000.
Donating imminently.
Hopefully they have well over a $1,000,000 by the end of the donation phase, seeing as anything extra goes into development costs. At this rate... I think that is more than manageable. Yay Double Fine!
Screw a month they're gonna hit it any minute now. This is crazy! I think I'll still chip in though, I want to see what the dev process is like for their team.
So Full Funding within 24 hours, right?
That was me about 6 hours ago. Even I thought that Full Funding in 12 hours was ridiculous, but congrats Double Fine. You win Your Game.
That was fast. I'm now wondering if they will still keep it up for the next 33days or if they will stop it now that it's at the goal.
@Monkeyman04: They'll keep it up because the more money the have the more they can spend on music, design, animations, ports to mac, marketing, etc.
If these guys somehow make 3 million dollars funding for this thing, they'll find a way to spend it.
Tis a warm fuzzy feeling I have seeing this make its target so quickly. Was really great to see Double Fine trending in the UK too on twitter. I hope self funded projects become more of a thing not just for games, but for all forms of entertainment (hell, more forms of everything!)
@Monkeyman04: Can you imagine if they went to Notch and turned him down on that basis?
I suppose then, he'd just remind them that he plugged $10k of that money for them and they'd still have taken his money XD
So, if they got 400,000 in one day, and they continue to make that much everyday...can they make 33 games? :P
Holy shit, only took one day to raise over $400K. Looks like they'll have an extra month to develop it?

they probably wont ... the momentum will slow down at some point. I'd say 750k seems realistic.

I'm wondering if this is the most successful Kickstarter project in history.
I was wondering that too, and after checking Kickstarter's most funded projects...yeah. It's very well on its way to crushing all others.
