Man, I didn't have a problem with FemHawke, but Male Hawke's voice is soo much better.

Did I really just say FemHawke? I'm sorry. That was terrible of me.

No, but it's not that great a leap of logic to go from the well-established "FemShep" to this. Doesn't mean I feel any less guilty about it though.

After watching the vids again, does anyone else find the Carver/Bethany death scene incredibly anti-climatic? The mother's voice acting doesn't help, but even still the whole scene during and after his/her death didn't strike any kind of sympathy.

Sooo... anyone want to ask why Flemeth looks totally different despite the fact that this probably only takes place days after she saves the Warden in Origins? However, other than that, an interesting enough introductory sequence, if not especially indicative of anything else. I assume your sister dies if Hawke is a mage and your brother if he/she isn't?

Well, Flemeth is a shapeshifter, so I'm sure that's the excuse they'll use.  The real reason?  This is the new shit.   Bigger, better, and more badass.  Warrior within.  All that garbage.

@Wrighteous86: But I thought Origins was the new shit. At least, that's what the incredibly deceptive Marilyn Manson trailer told me. I am to understand that DA 2 is the new old shit. Or shit, depending on how much the poster in question is planning on hating the game upon release for all the perceived dumbing down that has been accomplished.

@Nottle: Oh yeah, forgot about that.  Morrigan totally tells you people are too hard to shapeshift, but it's technically possible, I think.  So if anyone can do it', it's probably Flemeth.

If I remember correctly, in Origins Flemeth never told the warden that she was actually the which of the wilds. But she tells Hawke, soon as they meet.

This is most likely done because Flemeth has a overarching agenda. She appeared to the warden as a old women, but here she doesn't shy away from using her powers.

@MarkWahlberg: I think thats whats the biggest change.  Flemmeth would seem like the same  old lady if she still wore her hair messy and down, and had the robes from before; if that was the case I'd just say her face looks different due to art style.  Now the only difference is that her face just seems filled in more and her eyes seem less human. The one concept art of the new Flemmeth makes her look much more young. i feel like its out of character that she'd wear armor or take the time do up her hair since she saw things like that as a weakness.

Maybe it's a temporary side effect of being a dragon. I dunno. And it's such a minor change compared to zombified darkspawn or total makeover isabela that I'm not too worried about it. Honestly it looks like it has more to do with the change in art style than anything else.

Problem is that it changes the character.  She goes from being the creepy hermit lady, a baba yaga type, to the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty:

@MarkWahlberg: Fair enough, I don't think it's a big deal.  I don't really have issues with the Qunari or elves either, since they both looked too human to me.  I just hope a lot of this is perception, like the shitty marketing for the first game that made us think there would be no substance.  Aside from the skin tone, I don't think Isabela is much more of a change than Flemeth (both of which can be ascribed to the style change and aren't too jarring), but I admit I haven't paid much attention to her.

Haven't seen these zombie Darkspawn.  Anyone got any pics?

I'm not even sure why they picked her to be in this game. She was a gag character more than anything else; gives you the duelist specialty and the option to have sex with her (and possibly some of your party members). Definitely not someone meant to be taken seriously, what with the innuendo-laden dialogue and all.

The combat is looking amazing, but I get a way more LOTR feeling with the Darkspawn now as if they are moving like the Goblins in Moria.
I think I'm going to like this game all-together though. Still struggling with S-ranking the DLC. Golems is kicking my ass hardcore without a proper healer class.

She was a gag character more than anything else; gives you the duelist specialty and the option to have sex with her (and possibly some of your party members). Definitely not someone meant to be taken seriously, what with the innuendo-laden dialogue and all.

Oh jeez... she resembles Miranda a little in her top pic... which is not a resemblance you make for an attractive looking character mode O_o

@Abyssfull: I was thinking more 50 year old, emaciated Jennifer Garner. Yet another reason I'm grateful I can mod faces with the Toolset.

While we're on the subject of Isabela, I feel I should ask...
Where the fuck are her pants?

Lmao! Oh lord. Sure, Isabella looks more like a character out of a Soul Calibur game at this point, but I've still got little reason to complain. And by which I mean because I won't be using her during most of my playthroughs.. '>.> <.<'

@MarkWahlberg: I believe those are her pants; it is just hard to tell because it's dark and they kind of match her skin color.  I remember seeing her in other videos and she had pants.

So wait I'm confused. Are people on this thread excited about Dragon Age 2 or angry/hating on it? I can't really tell.
