Dragon Age II's first post-release story driven DLC finally has a release date, July 26th to be exact.

    Here's the official description:

Targeted by a vicious criminal cartel that are hunting "the blood of the Hawke," you must put an end to their relentless attacks. Leave Kirkwall, and journey to an ancient Grey Warden prison in order to find the source of the aggression and uncover the harsh truth about the Hawke lineage. Playable from any point in the DAII campaign, face all new darkspawn, forge a powerful new weapon and come face to face with an ancient horror.

    And the first screenshots:

What are you looking forward to most from this DLC? Personally I'm just hopping that my party members don't just sit there like speechless zombies through the entire thing.

Really looking forward to more Dragon Age II content. It was a game with its share of flaws, but I legitimately loved the game - I'm sure that makes me crazy.

The interaction between party members was the best thing about Dragon Age II, hopefully they keep that up in the DLC.

Judging by those screenshots (or if they are pc shots)  the levels have much more detail  which is a plus. I think it will be fine if it will have a decent story and give me some good hours of gameplay.  hearing that it is 10 bucks it better. because most of the dragon age dlcs were so-so.

I can't give them more money for this game. Not enough effort in making their levels in the DA2.

Not sure any DLC will be able to drag me back into the world of DA2, maybe some new DLC for DA:o would work better. Oh or anything about DA3. I'm done with 2.

Looking forward to replay all of DA 2 once all of the DLC is released. That would probably enhance the experience in the "repeated environments" department. Or not, but I still want to replay it, DA2 was fun and I might finally be able to get that stupid bugged achievement.

Short of an actual ending that isn't unsatisfying and terrible, I don't think there's a DLC pack in the known universe that could bring me back to DA2. Could alleviate the monotony complaint for people who're interested, though...

Nice to see that there are new enemies which you need different tactics on in order to defeat them. I also hope they won't re-use same areas in this DLC, but from the looks of it it's all new. Hopefully the content and length will justify the 800 price point too.

I'd usually say I'll wait for reviews, but tbh, given that even harsh reviewers like AngryJoe gave this game a 7 'because it was dragon age', I don't trust a damn thing they say anymore. This just leaves me with user reviews, and they will either be from die-hard DA2 fans, or gluttons for punishment who love misery...so out of the interests of my soul, I won't be buying this DLC, as DA2 was more than likely the most horrible experience Bioware has brought us since Darkspawn Chronicles. And DA2 arrives just about that because it actually worked, but that's like praising Bioware for wiping their collective ass...still not great.

Sorry, but all the 'bitching' about DA2 doesn't go unwarranted. I said it before, and I'll say it again; people played DA:O a lot. Maybe over 6 times, given races, genders, storylines and choices. DA2 is the first big RPG I've seen where people have said "it's not worth another playthrough". Then what was the point of praising the game? If you have to find a reason to play a game again, that isn't based on love for the game, over DLC, then what does that say about the game itself?

It's just something to think about, and if you love the game, great, but for a guy like me? I need a game that makes me want to play it. It has to have a spark, maybe story, maybe gameplay, hell, maybe even characters, that drive me into playing an RPG more than once, or continue playing after it is over. DA2 didn't have that spark. And since it had a '2' in the title, people expected the story to make some sort of narrative sense to the overarching world of Dragon Age. DLC will not draw me in, because the game itself didn't draw me in. And I looked forward to a good Dragon Age game before this...god dammit...

Hm, I forgot what I called both of my female Hawkes. Good string of weeks of games and DLC for me to play through. Ms. Splosion Man-Fallout: New Vegas' Old World Blues-Bastion, then this very soon. I can't wait to see some new textures in this game.

@jkuc316: Weird, I would have said the exact opposite.

Regardless, I've heard from people who've played prerelease versions of this that it solves my main two problems with the game, namely; the reused environments and the 'waves of x enemy attack you' encounter design, so I'll be all over this.
