    Collector's Edition Unveiled

Gamestop is showing the Collector's Edition of DA:O. ( Link)

For those not apt for following links it lists the following:

The Dragon Age Origins Collector's Edition comes with:
    Tin Case
    Bonus DVD including:

    • A making of documentary
    • Soundtrack
    • Trailers
    • Wallpaper
    • Concept art video
    • Strategy tips.
    Cloth Map
3 pieces of exclusive in-game content:
    • Bergens Honor: A massive helmet made out of dragonbone (+2 to armor, +25 physical resistance, +6 to attack)
    • Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes: A special book that adds +3 to all attributes when read
    • Final Reason: A magical staff of immense power (adds to damage, spell power, and fire damage)

Coming with any new copy of Dragon Age: Origins
     Additional In Game Content
    • The Stone Prisoner unlockable bonus quest and unlockable character, Shale
An unlockable item for Mass Effect 2
    • Get an exclusive in-game item for use in the upcoming title Mass Effect 2 (Blood Dragon Armor set)

All this at the cost of an additional $15. I will probably be buying the CE - what are other folks opinions?

Edit Note: Adding this because most people keep mentioning the cloth map.
    • Because the Digital Download versions are incapable of receiving the Tin Case and Cloth Map -- those who order the Collector's Edition via Digital Download will instead receive the DLC  Warden's Keep for free instead (no other version will receive this for free, though obviously can pay for this content if they wish to).

There we go. A collector's edition that actually gives stuff that is useful (and won't make me feel stupid after I purchase it), although I am personally against the idea of exclusive "in game" content. But I think I will get it. Cloth Maps are awesome.

    Cloth map?  I'm sold.

What I want to know is: is the CE exclusive to GameStop ?

I still don't know how I feel about this game, I'm a fan of medieval fantasy, but I haven't seen that much of this game to make me buy it...

    Cloth Map?

    I must have it.

    Cloth Maps are always good.

My initial thought would be 'No'. I say this because what is exclusive to Gamestop is the additional "Bonus" items they refer to. Those being:
    The GameStop Exclusive
    • Feral Wolf Charm - With this charm, hunters claim that they are enchanted on moonlit nights by scantily clad witches deep in the heart of the Korcari Wilds. As if that's not enough, the charm also adds to your armor and increases your health regeneration.
    • The Memory Ring - Allows your character to accumulate experience points at an accelerated rate and level up more efficiently.

I have only seen one other site (GameCrazy) that lists 'Exclusive' in game items and it was solely theMemory Ring (which they referred to it as the Formari Memory Brand). That being said, a quick google search showed that the EA store was also selling a CE of this game... though the PC version was at a higher price than the Gamestop version. More searching may yield other CE's being sold at different sources, especially as the October date gets closer.

I was going to get this game anyway but seeing all that stuff is pretty good. I'm more a fan of extra ingame stuff but a cloth map sounds hella nice.

Also I like the added game content for Mass Effect 2.

I hope this comes to Europe also.

    edit:

Cloth maps are indeed very cool, sadly the only one I have is a Zelda Twilight Princess one.

    CLOTH MAP YEAH!

    I am buying it.

i wasnt that intrested in the game but that cloth map is very tempting

The EAstore is a horrid thing in terms of navigating. When I go to the EAstore site for the US - typing in Dragon Age Collector's Edition, it lists nothing but the normal edition. You may wish to google up Dark Age: Collector's Edition and see what shows up for you (I'm hoping it returns search results pertinent to your region). I can't imagine EA will miss out on taking your money in any way possible, so I'd expect the GB site to update with the Collector's Edition sometime in the future.

Also one thing that everyone, regardless of region, should keep an eye out for is the Dragon Age: Origins Bioware Edition (priced at 99.95USD @ EAstore). While details for what this exactly entails hasn't been shown yet, it is something to consider before you put in your pre-order for the Collector's Edition (priced at 79.95USD @ EAstore).

Bumping because Gamestop 'updated' the list to include the in-game stats on the CE exclusive items. Editted in first post as well listed here.

Added content for Mass Effect 2? Sold.

In select stores Bioware is releasing the ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S EDITION *cue thunder and lightening* of Dragon Age! To see what you get in this wonderful package, please refer to this video link!

.... this maaay be a joke. But all I know, is I'm really hungry now.

    no nightvision monocles??

Truly this is the age of cloth maps.

May be a joke? That's so clearly a joke! And an awesome one, too. "Why two copies of the game? Because you can never have too many dragons! rar!" Then the sausage... that was painfully funny. Then the NVG effect was hilarious.

But thanks for the info on the BioWare edition. I was sold on the Collectors Edition of the game. But now I muts know what's in the all mysterious BIOWARE Edition! :o Two cloth maps, maybe? THREE?! If it's $100, then I wan tto see what constitues that much of a price jump in special editions. Make sure it's not the offical Dragon Age blood pack or sometihng stupid like that before I change my pre-order...
    @Slayeric:

Hah, yes, I thought it was an amusing joke as well. As for the BioWare Edition... I'm not too sure - but I'm wondering if it will be something along the lines of what Halo 3 did with it's immensely special addition and give you a kid-size honkin Master Chief helmet. If it's that sort of "collector's item" sort of thing, I'll probably pass. The CE, as it is, is very alluring though... so who knows what else is up BioWare's sleeve.

A cloth map! Dave should be excited about that!

How'd I know this would come with a cloth map..... Anyway, seems pretty cool, I'll most likely get this version.

It sounds like a pretty cool deal, i might get this version.

    cloth maps make everything better

Adding this to my original post since people seem so hyped for the cloth map...

Edit Note: Adding this because most people keep mentioning the cloth map.

Regular version for me, i don´t get a stiffi from cloth maps.

That's a nice CE, but if I even get to buy this game(damn you, limited monetary supply!), I will get the regular edition to save money(damn you again!).

Haven't found a European CE yet, I'm disappointed :( THe ones I found are all hefty on either the price or the shipping time. Screw that, I want to play it on the release day, not the month after.

Exclusive CE content is stupid because it is either overpowered in which case it's no different from cheating and will ruin the game balance or else it is not overpowered and then why even bother since there will be stuff just as good in the normal game already? The pre-order bonus is also stupid, a ring that gives you more XP. Same thing here, either it's going to level you like crazy and you might as well be cheating and it will ruin the fun, or more likely it's going to be barely noticeable. The game have to be balanced for the normal version since most people will buy that. The extra stuff is probably stuff that got cut sort of like movies having deleted scenes in the CE. If the movie was better with those scenes they would have been in there, they were cut for a reason.

It might still be worth it for the cloth map etc depending on what you think, but I certainly wouldn't recommend buying the CE for the items.
