    push button kill stuff

Dynasty Warriors is a franchise that has been beaten against peoples skulls with the lackluster release of the same gameplay with barely noticeable tweaks. This game is no exception.

Dynasty warriors plays much like every other dynasty warriors game. You have a block, an attack, charge attack, and a musou attack. You run through hordes of armies killing heros and officers along the way based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels. You still have your basic musou, free, and challenge modes that you would come to expect from the series. Musou mode now has specific story lines for each character so it does get a tad bit more personal.

The attacks have been tweaked as you no longer can shoot your bow, and instead of combining regular and charged attacks you just have each button have its own list of combos which is both odd and good all at the same time. Most officers have now been fitted for more calvary style attacks so horses are now more useful than just a form of transportation. You can also now swim and climb ladders, swimming is not so useful, but you'll find that ladders are valuable in taking out enemy strongholds.

You can still unlock horses, and weapons, but they aren't specific so all of the items feel really generic as they don't really coincide with the story.

The sounds really don't get you into the killing mood. Its really just not high quality and doesn't elaborate any sense of battle. The music still has that heavy metal feel, but it isn't present throughout the game. It takes itself to seriously and tries to sound more epic than it actually is.

Unfortunately this current gen game looks like it could be on a last gen system. The graphics in their entirety just look bland. It really just looks as if there was no effort put into even placing a new layer of paint on the franchise.

Hardcore DW fans will play this as we have all these years, but its getting to the point where DW is just becoming bad and not worth playing anymore. Especially not worth a new $60 game

Dynasty Warriors 6 is a surprisingly improved game. 0

In the Warriors Orochi review I did not too long ago, I bashed it for being a formula that was done over, and over, and over again, with no new changes at all. Well, Koei has finally produced a new Dynasty Warriors game, that finally starts to break out of it. To anyone who's followed and played the DW series, you can instantly feel the change as soon as you get to playing in Dynasty Warriors 6, it simply seems to breathe a little more life. It takes the DW engine, and gives it a fresh new coa...

A Dumbed Down Dynasty Warriors? Zomg what? 0

Introduction               Dynasty Warriors is an enigma in the gaming world. Almost invariably every installment gets trashed by reviewers and yet it continues to sell and grow as a franchise. Despite the fact that KOEI has been releasing what is basically boils down to the same game every year. Regardless of its title of “6” this game is actually more like 14 in its release history. But this notwithstanding, the series has been a financial success and more than that it has been one of the more...
