    Eek! The Cat is a comedic side-scrolling puzzle-platformer developed by CTA Developments and published by Ocean for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in both North America and Europe in 1994. The North American version is notable for being a Blockbuster Video exclusive.

    Based on the 1992 American cartoon of the same name, as well as the studio's earlier computer game Sleepwalker, Eek! The Cat stars the selfless purple cat of the same name as he escorts an autonomous companion around various hazards, sometimes being afflicted by the dangers themselves (which is fine, as he has cartoon-style invincibility).

    Along with its unusual and difficult gameplay, the game is infamous for its graphics, as the game's color palette is unusually dark compared to every other game for the platform (which can be attributed to a glitch or oversight).

    Levels

    Each level is named after a particular episode in the series, and usually involves some of the episode's plot points. Each level is also based on those from the game Sleepwalker, with several differences.

    1. Misereek - Set inside a zoo's exhibits, Eek must guide a partially blind and deaf old lady.
    2. Eek vs. the Flying Saucers - Set on an alien homeworld, Eek must guide his dizzied love interest Annabelle.
    3. HallowEek - Set in a cemetery, Eek must guide his owner's children, who are dressed up for Halloween as a headless chicken (which they cannot see out of).
    4. Bearz 'N the Hood - Set in a city, Eek must guide the dizzied Squishy Bearz member Pierre.
    5. It's A Wonderful Nine Lives - Set in a wintertime city, Eek must guide a walking present.

    The game also includes a bonus level, known as "Feed Me", where Eek must consume giant sweets while being chased by a jetpack-wearing Sharky the Sharkdog.
