Holy shit Kitana is a footsies character or something. So many different hitconfirms. What the fuck. Meterless hitconfirms into like 32%+ dmg off of 1, b1, f1, 2, f2, f3 what the fuck. 31% off of armored wakeup? Big d1 poke?
I don't even know.

@starvinggamer: Oh yeah the wakeup is pretty legit now (it seemed okay before), though you might be able to low profile it. I think Kitana has always had some amount of footsies to her, just she wasn't as good at it as Jax, Raiden, or whomever (or Tanya's F2 which is absurd especially in DN).

P.S. Could one of you tweet this correction image to https://twitter.com/CEOJebailey?
Welp, super arcade was denied the right to move into that empty lot they were hoping to get. People on twitter are pretty pissed right now, and from what I'm hearing about the stream of the council meeting they should be. Oye.
Yo so IEBattleGrounds just did a stream of Mike Watson's meeting with City of Azusa to open Super Arcade there. Spoilers: They said no.
The basic logic behind all 3 nay votes was something along the lines of "The shopping center isn't safe because there aren't enough businesses so you can't open your business because the shopping center isn't safe" and "We want more retail in this empty shopping center so you can't open your business because then there wouldn't be enough retail". Really they're just stuck on the reputation of 90s arcades and haven't done a lick of research on the actual people who went to Super. One of them actually said something like, "I can't see how you can have quality of life playing games with names like 'Street Fighter' and 'Combat'".
So fucking pissed right now, and I don't even live in SoCal any more. Keits is pretty pissed too.
.@cityofazusa The ignorance displayed in your decision concerning Super Arcade opening in your empty shopping center was breathtaking.
— Keits is Not Amused (@TheKeits) June 25, 2015
.@cityofazusa Telling a proven business that you are protecting them by not letting them open was a brilliant artistic stroke!
— Keits is Not Amused (@TheKeits) June 25, 2015
But Markman is on the case? I don't even fucking know.
@cityofazusa I'd like to talk with your officials about a proposal. Please let me know if you have time or direct me to the right contact.
— Mark Julio (マークマン) (@MarkMan23) June 25, 2015
This forum could really use a central thread for all things related to the Fighting Game Community where it could be a weekly updated thread that includes events going on that week that are streamed, and could be used as a prime spot to talk about ALL fighters. Links to streams, times, etc and then the discussion can cover those events as they are going, and also talk about anything else going on in the FGC like the events above.
Anyone want to volunteer?
Also, fudge Asuza. Ignorance is bliss. :/
Azusa was completely ignorant.
The bullshit safety excuses, lack of knowledge on modern arcades and the general circle they ran around in. Super Arcade was a solid business that proved itself and denying them is just stupid. No other word for it.
Edit: NOT TO MENTION the fact that Super Arcade served as a haven FROM trouble for a lot of people. Gaming is an escape from dangers and trouble. FUCK the more I think about this, the more I'm getting angry.
So Gootecks decided to write a blog post about this whole thing. Nothing surprising to any of us who follow the scene and love fighting games, but still he puts his points across pretty well. Pity the people of Asuza probably won't read and/or understand his points.

@hmoney001: Yep!
So, do you guys think the new rule about top 4 having to get the auto qual else it turns into a points qual will come into play here? I think every current qualifier but Xian is coming, which is 5 people to fill those 4 spots and make it happen.
Patrick wrote an article about Super Arcade!
“High quality does not really fit with games called ‘street fighter’ and ‘combat,’” said one city council member. http://t.co/a1SeBuP5dT
— Patrick Klepek (@patrickklepek) June 25, 2015
I'm gonna go ahead and take credit for it.
@patrickklepek@austin_walker City caught in the stigma of 90s arcades denies globally respected arcade right to open http://t.co/TIeadMphgB
— The Starving Gamer (@StarvingGamer) June 25, 2015
Guess it was already mentioned above, but our old GB buddy Patrick just did an article about Super Arcade suddenly being put into limbo. EDIT: ninja'd!
On an unrelated note, I got a message from Amazon that BlazBlue:CPEx I preordered is about to ship next week. Guess I better re-learn my moves with Tager again.
@westernwizard: The likelihood is very high but probably someone like Kazunoko or Bonchan sneaks in; the problem arises moreso when all of the "next on the list" guys already auto qualified. The only event where I think it's severely unlikely that the top 4 rule comes into play is EVO just due to the sheer randomness of it.
@starvinggamer: Well done sir, the tweetums are where all the power is concentrated.
@zlatko: These threads are FGC central, except when a game first comes out. I think SFV might have a dedicated thread that lasts but maybe not, I think MKX has roughly the same interest level from a general perspective and those threads died out pretty quick.
@hassun: Arturo has the easiest pool at CEO?
@fredchuckdave: That's about how I'm feeling, just enough guys like Kazunoko/Bonchan/fuudo/etc that are legit top 4 threats any given week.
Plus who knows if killer Mago or misses top 8 Mago will show up after he just blew everyone up at SEAM.
@westernwizard: Looking at previous CPT premier tournament results I think the chances of the top 4 all being qualified are rather slim.
Final Round:
Hypespotting:
NCR:
Stunfest:
SEAM:
As you can see we haven't really gotten close to it yet. But of course as more people qualify the chances will most likely increase.
@westernwizard: I mean Mago obviously just went and partied in Thailand for a week so I wouldn't count on him to make it, we'll see though hard to underplay how good he was at SEAM.
Patrick wrote an article about Super Arcade!
I'm gonna go ahead and take credit for it.
That's great to see, hope Austin covers FGC news in the future too.
@fredchuckdave: Mago has traditionally not done all that well in the USA though.

— Conrad Janzen (@QuantumPope) June 25, 2015
@QuantumPope@PR_Balrog I like this one
— Justin Wong (@JWonggg) June 25, 2015
I would tweet something at someone at Gamespot, but I thinks it too funny to correct.
@hassun: You could have always rounded out the SEAM top 8 with T5: Daigo (Q), Momochi (Q), T7: Infiltration (Q), Xian (Q)
@hmoney001: He doesn't need to conquer, just get fourth!
@flstyle: @gaff: I actually sent a message on Danny's tumblr about that little mishap. I guess it wasn't that good of an idea since people can be reached much more quickly through Twitter.
@fredchuckdave: I probably shouldn't have added the #5 players anyway. Especially since that's supposed to be 2 people. I'll delete those.
P.S. CEO brackets are now up on Challonge: http://ceogaming.challonge.com/
And... fixed.
By now, the moment has become a legend in video game history: In a tense match between two all-time fighting game champs, Daigo Umehara managed to parry an entire multi-hit Super Combo from Justin Wong's Chun Li. A single parry takes practice and precise timing to pull off, so 17 parries in a row was almost like witnessing someone leap over the Empire State Building.
I'm hearing that the display lag during SEAM was bad? Is this true? At least I saw a Poongko tweet about it.
Also, saw this posted in Twitch chat regarding the Azusa issue on SuperArcade.
@thunderslash: Multiple players mentioned it although it's hard to be sure if they meant the monitors, the fact that they played on the PS3 version, or both.
@starvinggamer: Combos off of 2,1 fan with Kitana do more damage than 2, 1, 2 fan, kind of amusing.
@fredchuckdave: Yeah but it's a harder hitconfirm so pluses and minuses.
@starvinggamer: It's difficult for most characters to punish fan on block though.
CEO is tomorrow!!!! Get excite!!!!
Jebailey is covering all bases!
@viciousbearmauling: 10% off Cold Stone Ice Cream too!

So what's the plan here? Is the chat just going to stay up after UnproFri or will it go up on Saturday?
Those entrant numbers are interesting. 85 entrants for KI? That's pretty low. Especially for a game with a $15k bonus. Also surprised by USF4 and both Smash games having more entrants than MKX.
@starvinggamer: I got so excited at the notion of Super Arcade coming back and having LIVE WNF again. I really hope they find somewhere to open up shop again.
@lukeweizer: KI is definitely the easiest game to make money off of this year. Lowest amount of players + Microsoft money!
I can't see anything with all this #STEAM in the way. #FGCpic.twitter.com/0JC5dUpiRY
