I do know what no mutants allowed is
its a group of people who are to busy having their heads up their own asses to see that fallout 3 is good

.........anyway. I'm fairly certain that Fallout 3 will get a good review. I see Jakobs point of view: Oblivion with guns. It is using just a modified version of the engine used in Oblivion and there were a couple things (third person shiftiness) that could probably really turn people off. However, I believe that this will have enough original Fallout story and content to make it feel securely like a Fallout game and not just a Bethesda game. But whatever, to each his own or some such bullshit.

I've played the originals and loved them.
However I'm pretty confident I'll like Fallout 3.
Oblivion with guns it might turn out to be, but shit. I liked Oblivion.
If it's going to be mechancally similar to any game it's not a bad choice to emulate.

I would've loved a Fallout 3 in the style of the originals, but what can ya do? I'll be happy with what we gets.

Fallout 3 looks good, however, I've never played any of the other Fallout games...

I do think the situation of Half-Life is a little different seeing as how it's a newer game.

Theres nothing wrong with taking an old IP and updating it for a new generation, as long as they do it right.

from what I've seen and heard of the old fallout games, it seems Bethesda is trying their best, and anybody who rants about them is simply just trying to cause problems.

I loved Fallout 1, 2 and Marrowind.  I would have loved Oblivion if it had kept more of what made Marrowind great....

As far as Fallout 3 goes, I think it will be a great game.

I think it's rather ridiculous how somebody can bash Fallout 3 just because the gameplay has changed from Fallout 2. I suppose I don't really have a say in this because I never played the original Fallouts, but I think it really is down to somebody like me who has never played the originals. If Bethesda can attract modern gamers to play their game by offering all of these modern concepts in one very well orchestrated package, they're doing something right. This is why I think Fallout 3 will be amazing:

• Exciting setting
• Interesting gameplay: The combination of the First-person adventuring of Oblivion and the innovative new concept called VATS is intriguing
• Tons of customization
• Hundreds of NPCs, all with GOOD voice acting.
• A unique "1950's" vibe to it, kind of like Resistance 2
• Hundreds of hours of gameplay

As always, I'm willing to give the game an honest chance, as being a Fallout fan, I don't want a bad Fallout game to come out.  It's just that I remember Brotherhood of Steel...

I've now played it on a friends modded 360 and it's definitely more than oblivion with guns. I really like VATS and the dialogue is MUCH better than oblivions. It's much more action packed than FO 1 and 2 but the combat is really nice. (the guns do sound a bit weak though and melee was boring)

I thought that FO 3 wouldn't be a good game but it's much better than I thought it would be. I will definitely buy this when it comes out for my PC! :D

Edit; I've also played Horde in Gears 2, that was really awesome! :P

game looks great. it's different from the original fallouts and doesn't have the same charm that the older gameplay had, but it nonetheless looks like a fantastic play.

as far as half-life 3 playing like gears, the situation would be the same. lack the old charming gameplay, but adopt a still entertaining style.
