Great Sequel to a Great Game

I couldn't wait for this game to get to the United States. I played the hell out of the first FFTA and did the same for this one. It has everything that was great about the first game and made it even better. More classes, more races, more items and more quests. The story is great too, and has a much more likeable maiin character this time around; Luso Clemens. Just like the first one he gets sent to Ivalice via a magical book and has to find his way back again. There are good supporting characters and guest appearencees by FFXII main characters Vaan and Penelo. Grimoire  also improves on some of the problems with the first one. Most notably the judge system. Before, breaking a law would mean a steep gil penalty or jail time. This time around breaking a law means loss of a clan priviledge and loss of an additional reward at the end. So basically rewarding you for following the law instead of punishing you for breaking it. But it's not perfect. Some of the laws are kind of lame. Like the no knockback law, landing a critical hit on a normal attack knocks back the enemy and is completely a chance event. But its only a minor grievence. Visually its a far superior game as well. The characters look great and the enviroments look phenomenal, as do the magical spells. The sound is pretty good, those who played FFXII will recognize some of the scores but they still sound great. All in all this game is perfect for FFTA fans who want to spend more time in Ivalice and is a great game for newcomers as well.

One of these games was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift. Not only is this possibly the longest title I have ever come across in my life, but it’s also a pretty damn good RPG game, considering it’s on the DS. But then, for a Square Enix game, I w...

Mostly light-hearted stories and fun tactical battles 0

(www.plasticpals.com) Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is another installment in Square-Enix’s turn-based strategy role-playing franchise. As expected it shares more in common with its GBA predecessor than the PlayStation game (now available on the PSP and iPhone). It’s one of the best examples of its genre, but each game in the series requires a big time commitment.Taking a page from The Neverending Story, a young boy named Luso is transported to the fantasy world of Ivalice when,...
