She's basically a not-shitty version of Cloud and Squall. Got the styled hair and the gunblade but she has bigger metaphorical testicles than those two guys put together.

Im about 13 hours in or so but at this point I don't really like her that much, perhaps she develops into something more, but at this point she is too narrowminded. I really like Sazh

Agreed. I personally really liked Squall (FF8 fanboy) but Lightning is so much better. 
The other characters I'm not overly fond off, I wouldn't risk my neck to save any of em.

Yeah Squall gets a bad rap I guess but he can be annoying sometimes

I've not played the game at all and I've barely read up on it, but from what I've seen I think I disagree with Sazh.  From what I've read, he's an old fool who constantly complains about his aching bones and acts all "Wait for me, guys!" and is purely there for comic relief. "

You couldn't be more wrong, though I can hardly blame you for getting that impression. In most trailers and early footage he is portrayed as being just a tag-along, always lagging behind Lightning, whining and of course having that chocobo in his afro seemingly for no reason.  
 
That couldn't be further from the truth, though, as Sazh quickly develops into one of the most likable, relatable and well designed characters in the entire game. Surprised the hell out of me, that's for sure. "

the thing that i love about lightning the most is that she is an asshole towards snow, and occasionally others. it's not that i don't like snow, but it's just a nice change to have a dickish protagonist (from the outset, at least).
