So, next week is the next major patch in Final Fantasy XIV. Patch 2.2 brought about a bunch of awesome new changes. The're have been several patches since and they have added a bunch of minor things but 2.3 is where its at! I'm going to gather and repost all the available information square has detailed so far. There has never been a better time to jump into the game! And the Giantbomb Free Company is still very active so look us up if you're on the Ultros server!

New story quests, new dungeons ,chocobo raising, new crafting recipes and Desynthesis and entirely new PvP mode, Daily Hunts, private chambers. This is a huge update and its really exciting. Here is the official trailer which shows off everything the patch has to offer.

Doesn't the thief/rogue class début in this patch as I remember?

So hype!

Yay! I slowed my playing down recently to wait for the new stuff, but I'm really waiting for the thief class before I jump back in full time.

@alkusanagi: You'll be waiting a while. Slated for 2.4, and those are 3 months apart.

Bah. This looks good, like every other patch. I haven't been able to get absorbed into it lately though. I'll usually play for bit then take a break then come back for a bit etc. My recent moment of return was being bored and firing it up. That was enough to get me wanting to play again. But I couldn't get myself to do anything. Eventually I was like "eh I'll go unlock the Fisherman class" because it was the only class I hadn't unlocked. Next thing you know its at lvl 50 because I enjoyed doing it.

Now I'm back to wanting to play it but just can't find the motivation to do anything. I still haven't done Patch 2.3s story stuff. I'm also up to the Gilgamesh fight but haven't done it. I don't know. Blah.

I really like the game and want to play it and do more stuff in it but I just can't lately for whatever reason. My FC is of course way ahead and done with everything ever. But I'll definitely fire it up for this patch and try to check out some new stuff.

This game is awesome. Why am I not playing it more?

@seikenfreak: Please do yourself a favor and go at the least fight Greg. That fight...no that entire quest line is just fantastic.

Pretty much the same, except they specify the new items, recipes, and housing ward so people can't proactively hoarde materials and such.
