    Five Gold Stars

    Concept »

The highest rating in the scoring system for the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises.

    Short summary describing this concept.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

There is a difference in gold stars between the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises:

    • In Rock Band, Gold Stars are achieved after you have hit the 5 stars benchmark and then get even more points to receive Gold Stars. Essentially, they could just be considered six stars. The Gold Star cutoff is different for every song so it is never definite that you will receive them even if you get a full combo. Rock Band only awards five gold stars on Expert difficulty.
    • In the Guitar Hero Franchise, starting with Guitar Hero II, Gold Stars simply means you have hit 100% of the notes. You are not required to get a full combo, you just need to hit every note. Guitar Hero will award gold stars on any difficulty.
