Since beginning his pro career in 1996, Mayweather has never lost a professional boxing match in his career. His record sits at 45-0-0, which puts him just 4 wins away from tying Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0-0.
Mayweather is known as a finesse and technical fighter, but he has recorded 26 knockouts in his career.
"Money" is right handed and naturally fights from the orthodox stance.
Feud with Manny Pacquiao
Mayweather has beaten many of the top boxers in his weight class including Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Juan Marquez, and Oscar De La Hoya. Despite his impressive record and having beaten many of the stars of the sport, Mayweather has never gotten into the ring with Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao.
Talks of a fight between the two have been ongoing since 2010, however, neither fighter could come to terms put forward by the other. Much of the hold up is in regards to Mayweather's insistence to use blood testing (for performance enhancing drugs) before the fight.
Both have continued to box other opponents since talks have broken off. After Pacquiao's recent losses and both fighters aging, some wonder if the fight will ever take place. If it does happen in the near future, it will assuredly be one of the biggest boxing events in years.
Style
Floyd is known for his flair inside and outside of the ring. He is one of the most prolific "trash-talkers" in any sport and he is not bashful about his dominance in the ring. This, along with his legal troubles and continued feuds with many boxers, has made Floyd boxing's "bad boy".
