Giant Bomb Virginity...

I've been a GB Member for some time but haven't been able to get into the Bombcast so am going to give the latest one a real shot.
 
Any tips for helping me enjoy it? Have a coke and a pack of smokes.

Yeah, I do. I want to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Majority of users seem to use the bombcast as a way to get themselves to sleep. You could try doing that!

Wearing pants is only optional. I find not wearing pants makes almost anything more enjoyable.

I would get a Frappucino and listen the the bombcast, but that's just me.

I find the sudden attack of those dumb threads perplexing. It's like the world is ending and people don't know what to do with themselves.

A few vocal people on here hate it when they have guests on, which they do this week. You might want to wait until next week or listen to last weeks episode. Personally, I like Matt and Alex a lot so it's all cool.
 
Also, I would recommend finding a nice time to listen where you won't be distracted. I usually listen to it while commuting. Otherwise, I'll get distracted and then I'll have to rewind the thing when everyone starts laughing to hear what I missed. That's happened on many occasions.

I listen to the Bombcast while I play games or when I'm walking places.
 
If you really want to get into it, I suggest you start from the beginning, it's a big task now as there are a lot of episodes but it will really help you to get a lot of the in jokes.

If you can't enjoy it, then... I don't know. Don't listen to it? I think it's usually really funny, and I love the dynamic between the guys. Either that's going to be enjoyable for you or it isn't. I don't think you necessarily have to enjoy it, though. I used to be a hardcore Destructoid community member, yet I just could not get into their retro-gaming podcast nearly as much as their other podcasts. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

I listen to it when I have had a really long day at work with a Rum Coke and a smoke.  Its a great way to kick back and just switch off.  Lovely way to be.

Listen to it while you're doing something else, perhaps playing a dialog-light game or running errands. The Bombcast can make the most boring of tasks bearable, and fun things more fun.

Have some tissues nearby cause your mind is about to be blown all over the walls. Also, I like playing games while listening.

Whenever I go outside I listen to podcasts. If you like Giantbombcast then checkout Three red lights and gamescoop from Ign.com. Those three podcasts make trips to work a lot more bearable.

Just do it while relaxing and you don't have anything else to do. While some people say they play games/do other stuff while listening, I can't really get the full enjoyment out of it if I try doing that. I hate having to go back a minute to find out WTF they're talking about after they start making crazy comments about something.

I've only gone through about 10-15 of them and I play games while I'm listening

I must have fallen asleep to this podcast a dozen times over it's course. Not because it's boring (it's not), but because I usually listen to it in the dark, with my eyes closed, later in the evening.

I listen to the Bombcast while surfin' the web.

Pause midway and masturbate furiously. I find it helps the experience.

Lately I've been listening while playing Mega Man 10. That game is hard as fuck.

Just listen to it while you do something, like eat, play games, drive, poop, whatever you want.

Get high.

I listen to it at school when nothing interesting is happening. Driving works too, but it's pretty distracting. 

Okay you need to understand that every now and then Jeff my say something like DAWG or YOH. This may confuse you as he is neither talking about dogs or yoh-yo.....Dude listen to the bombcast already.

I mainly listen to them while driving around. You could try that.

Get naked. Listen to podcast.  Win.

i normally play a game which doesn't require much attention, say, hexic, fifa or grinding in an rpg.
 
either that or when i'm travelling into work i listen to it.

Definitely fun while playing games (personally I recommend Fallout 3 as you can mute that game and it doesn't detract too much from the experience) but more importantly is use headphones otherwise you'll miss the awesome.

I listen while playing games like Bad Company 2 and Red Faction. Either that or I listen to it while jogging.

i play games that dont have cutscenes when listening to the bombcast such as Picross 3D, WoW, or M&B:Warband.

I'm a virgin as well...
 
Will the Bombcast get me pregnant?

While walking, jogging, driving or taking the bus is my personal favorite. Downside is that you may look like a loon laughing out loud in public areas because of something funny they say. And believe me, they do.
