I'd say hi and tell them that I frequent the whiskey sites, ask them what they're currently doing, then tell them I gotta go. Before going, since I live in the UK, I'd offer to show them around town and tell where best to eat out and get some great drinks.

Nothing stalkerish about just being nice to someone who makes you laugh and puts out great content.

And hey if they don't want to talk or simply don't have time you know exactly why. If they don't want to talk you were weird when you approached them, your fault, or they doing what you want them to keep doing, making great content.
