Heya.

I seem to be having some sudden rss feed issues with all the free rss feeds, for example https://www.giantbomb.com/feeds/video/ or https://www.giantbomb.com/feeds/mashup/. As far as I can see it's all the free feeds, haven't tested premium stuff.

Basically, they open just fine on Firefox' feed preview window or whatever you might call it, but not on anything else.

Thunderbird throws "Feeds INFO downloaded: Update: RSS Feeds/Giant Bomb -> http://www.giantbomb.com/feeds/video/ is not authorized." error.

QuiteRSS error is "Error downloading https://www.giantbomb.com/feeds/video/ -server replied: Forbidden (202)."

Any ideas?

Those feeds above work fine for me in thunderbird. What if you add them to firefox as active bookmarks? or change to https? Try the thunderbird console. (ctrl+shift+J)

I got the error I pasted above from the Thunderbird console.

As an active bookmark, I guess it works. Just like it does in the feed "preview" thing.

Had a hunch and did a little test. Cleared all my GB cookies and was not surprised to see a "ARE YOU A HUMAN?" question due to "abnormal traffic from my network". I seem to be getting it every single time I clear the cookie it sets, so is my ip permanently on some shit list or something? Wtf.

It would certainly explain why I can't load anything on apps that don't have their "VPN day pass" cookie set.

I would email ipbans@gamespot.com and someone will hopefully be able to sort this out for you!

Hey thanks Rorie. It seems that whatever it was was temporary. Still would be rad to know what caused my ip to get flagged in the first place.

Like, was my feed reader hammering the servers in an unusual way or something else entirely. I mean if it was something that happened as a result of something on my end, would be nice to adjust the reader settings and such.
