Youtube player ontop of other video after clicking play

I'm getting an experience recently when I open a video page, like this quick look: https://www.giantbomb.com/shows/journey-to-the-savage-planet/2970-19901

I'll click the play button as soon as I see it, and then a youtube player (not playing) covers the video. I can hear the other player in the background, but if I click the youtube player I end up with two players running the video simultaneously.

I have that happen regularly too, there's a hidden button in the middle bottom part of the player with three vertical dots which will disable the Youtube player and show you the site's player instead, but sadly that setting seems to be forgotten every few weeks.

Had this happen too, usually refreshing the page helps.
