Devolver Digital - E3 2017 Press Conference

It seems like no one in the staff is aware of this conference.

And, after seeing it, I kind of understand why. This has to be the "conference" with less actual content and news of all the ones scheduled on the E3, but it has a lot of comedy. In fact, it almost feel like a satire of E3 Press Conferences.

Anyway, since I haven't seen it anywhere else on the site, and it was at an ungodly hour (2 AM in UTC-03:00), I wanted to share it with you on an embebed format, because it is likely most people weren't aware of it.

So they did have a conference? Maybe it was part of the joke/satire, but last I heard was that they had to cancel it because they couldn't get the space they wanted for it, and all of the sites that had it listed as part of the E3 line-up had it labeled "TBD" for the time.

@bonorbitz: I can't be sure if it was a proper conference, because the amount of people, the space and the time makes it look like they just filmed it in a studio with a lot of internal people in the audience and published it online, but they did have a live stream that showed some games...

Clearly this was a satirical conference, but I'm finding this entertaining. Someone wanted to top the absurdity of Wolfenstein 2's trailer. That Suda51 bit was pretty funny.

Well, I saw a new trailer for Ruiner there, so that's something. Still no solid date, which is a bummer, but I'd imagine it'll be 2017 as promised at least.

They used to hold a carnival on the street outside E3. They are poking fun at the whole thing as always.

Holy shit i wish giant bomb crew could have watched this one with commentary last night. Crazy.

Watching this last night and having it followed the the Pre-Pre Show felt like a fever dream. It was like the Eric Andre Show. Except it lasted 10 hours.

Yeah, this kind of comedy is not for me anymore. Feels old and aggressively forceful. I feel like when Tim & Eric did this kind of nightmare-TV comedy, it was at least a little more reserve and whimsical.

Last night's long stream was up there for one of my favorite moments from any E3. So goddamn weird and random. Well worth watching for the introductory "conference" alone.

This was so refreshing, it was like anti-E3. Glad I didn't skip it last night. The stock footage was a brilliant bit.

That Nina character was the only noteworthy thing in that whole mess. The actress really went for it.

The weird for weirdness sake has been done to death at this point.

Honestly, I was into it. A bit forced here and there, but some pretty good parody in there as well.

Ruiner still looks great. I love the narrator's voice.

Loved it. Some bits were definitely better than others, but I can't poopoo any "press conference" with that much on-stage bloodshed.

That is so awesome. What brought them to my attention last year was how interesting, quirky and unique their games look (I think they had a collection of games in a trailer at one of the major press events?), so I'm not surprised that how they celebrate E3 follows that same quirkiness. I haven't watched their press conference yet because it's a busy day at work and I want to pay it my undivided attention, but I can't imagine what it'll be like considering some of the feedback I'm seeing here.

The best part of E3 thus far for sure, and Ruiner looks awesome.

I'm not sure I can recall any of the games they showed so they might have upstaged the actual product a bit but otherwise it was a rollicking good time!

i want ruiner inside me right now. game has a helluva style to it. kinda resembles a modern day crusader, if i were to guess?

i thought it was a hoot and appreciated they leaned all in. i'd love the format to be stretched and played with more.

I wasn't really feeling it until they said it was in the Dave Lang Memorial convention center and i was full in. It only got better afterwards with Kaiju Big Battel and John Morrison and Shad Gaspar with Toe Jam and Earl.

The parody bits that weren't over-the-top crazy were hilarious.

Can't wait for Absolver to release.

Eh. That's a weird way to announce a couple of shooters. Shooters where you kill a bunch of stuff. Devolver's bread and butter. At least one of them is another Serious Sam game, because that franchise is still fresh.

Seriously though, I like some of Devolver's stuff, but this video was a little obnoxious.
