Anyone else have a little ritual you do before a big game?

For me it's always cleaning. Today i'm pulling apart my game room to vacuum and dust and re-run speaker wire so its neater. Anyone else do anything like that?

You mean real-life sports game? Either way, nope. I do get some really weird urges to rearrange absolutely everything. That's at random though.

I sweep the crumbs out of my sofa and onto the floor. Makes me happy :)

Oh, you mean before a video game? Yeah, I also like to clean up my room before getting a big new game. I don't know why, but it just kinda feels nice. That and dusting the TV screen.
 
Before I write essays for school or study for tests, I usually make a habit of clipping my fingernails. Essays can be pretty nerve-wracking, which I guess can lead me to bite my nails, so this prevents it. It just helps me create one less possible distraction, I suppose. Oh, I also like to take naps before doing essays or studying. Doesn't have to be long, even just an hour is okay. That way I don't have to get distracted by being tired and it'll help keep me energized to power through.

Clear the HDD, clear the schedule, buy lots of snack food, and get new batteries/ recharge the batteries

I like that nice and clean feeling of a freshly cleaned room. I tend to get my eyes checked out if its been a while as well. My sight is horrible.

Go to the store and buy a bunch of junk food and beer then retire in the mancave and play till my eyes are bloodshot.

Nowadays just wait till its quite to start  and pray that it stays quite

I'll clean the flat usually before I start what I plan to be a long gaming session. It's kind of a reward thing I guess... I can't sink down and really indulge myself like that if I know I've got shit to do. 

I do clean up the gaming area before I play anything. 
 
Completely reworking the area, though -- such as re-running wires or rearranging the TV and media stands I don't do unless I recently got something new and shiny to put in there. New console, or TV...something like that, which isn't all that often.

I clean like mad. I thought I was the only one!

 
Make sure i install to the hard drive..while thats happening have a shower and some salad for dinner...on a health kick thingy..anyways once thats all done..start playing 
 
but in saying that depends on what day a game release is on too.. if its a rental i power through it..good or bad depending on the length of said game in a review..if its like halo reach i will play abit but mostly leave it for a weekend...unless it was RDR..just loved that game. was getting up early to play the damn thing

Not really. Once it's installed I just play it.

For big releases, I travel to the mountains of Russia and pull sledges with my teeth, chop whole tree trunks in half and climb to the highest peak, screaming DRAAAAAAAAGOV as I do so.

Actually yes. Get days off from work and buy tons of beer

get really comfortable, grab a drink, install the game, turn the lights off, lock the door.

Replay the last game. And grab a drink or 2 or 6, lock my door, take off pants, Get playing.

Don't know if this fits here but when I play any Pokemon and I'm catching a Pokemon, I hold down the B button thinking it will up my chances of capture.

I just grab a drink and some food.

Grab a few chick flicks and a bowl of ice cream, and send my wife to the bedroom with them.

I tend to talk about a game so that it bores everyone else in the house so that I get first dibs. I'm a great child. :D
