Biggest let down this year.

for me it was facebreaker, i really wanted to like that game but I felt the combat was too simple and repetitive,

GTA IV. What a piece of shit.

I really can't tell you, none of the games I've really been looking forward to have let me down.

GTA4 for me too. It was way too gritty for its own good.

Soul Calibur 4 maybe, just cos nothing else has really dissapointed me that much.

MGS4 was my biggest disappointment for the year.

Mercs 2. I had such high hopes for that game, I loved the original mercs, but mercs 2 just screamed of mediocrity.

For me it was Too human....was so hyped for that game until I actually played it (>.<)

I'd say Soul Calibur 4. It just felt too old fashioned.

Spore. Of course, there is no way it could live up to such massive hype.

I can't really think of anything. Every game I bought this year, and played, I thought were very good.

Lost Odyssey.  Man, I had high hopes for that game, and I actually do love the gameplay, but so help me God, I'm tired of little kids in my RPG's.  I know, funny thing to hate a game for, right?  But that's the whole game in a nutshell - a lot of stupid JRPG cliches drag down what could have been one hell of an RPG.  I'd just like a straight-up adult themed JRPG for the 360.

Runner-ups:  GTAIV (great story, great characters, bland and repetitve gameplay until some of the later missions - and no car customization!), Too Human, and Infinite Undiscovery.

GTAIV I guess I'd say.

Too Human / Mercs 2

EDIT: and Wii in general.

I reckon the biggest let downs are still to come, but so far, definitely Too Human.

gonna have to say the Bourne Conspiracy. i had hopes for that game

Can one of you back-up why GTA IV was the biggest disappointment of the year? Because frankly, I don't understand in a year full of Hazes, Too Humans and Mercs 2s that someone could say with a straight face that GTA is the biggest disappointment.

Gamespot really going down the shitter after hiring the worst possible people they could.

I would say Burnout Paradise, I thought it would change everything but instead it was still the same things I hate about it with a slightly different game surrounding it.

Because I didn't look forward to Haze, Too Human or Mercenaries?

I was hoping GTA would be great, and it was first the first couple days. Then I realized how shallow it was. Unlike San Andreas, where you can ride hovercrafts down mountains, fly planes into towers and hijack monster trucks, GTAIV is basically GTA3 in high definition.

Honestly, Spore.  My Will Wright fanboyism might say otherwise, but since I haven't really played it in over a month, I'd say I'm not totally satisfied.  And to think I thought this was Game of the Year material.

SSBB, it's a good game, but far from the best game on the wii.

Definitely GTA IV. I just couldn't get into it, as it just didn't feel like a GTA game.
