Games you bought twice, at least
Team Fortress 2, one on 360 in the Orange Box and then again on Steam. Same with Portal, except the Steam version was free. Peggle on iPhone and 360. Resident Evil, bought the game, and then again as the director's cut.
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2, but that was because I bought the game to give as a present to someone.
MW2 for PS3 then on PC. I'm going to buy Bioshock 2 again for the new DLC because I traded that in :(
I got Team fortress 2 on 360 and Steam, I have one of those sonic gems Collection games so I guess that means I re bought Sonic 1 and Sonic R, but I don't think that counts really?
But I did buy Luigi's Mansion twice. I bought it once, didn't like it, sold it, wanted to play it again, bought it again, didn't like it much the second time either.
But this thread has reminded me that I want to buy Super Mario Sunshine and Pikmin again, also Luigi's Mansion, I still complete that game.
Bad company 2 for ps3 first and for 360 later when my friends changed their minds and thought they'd buy it...

Halo 3, the first one was destroyed because i was stupid and kept my 360 vertically. Don't know if this counts but i bought MGS2 substance when it came out and i already had Sons of Liberty. Red Faction Guerrilla. I first bought it for PS3 but then it broke and i bought another for the 360 and ended up losing interest for the game after clearing two sections of Mars.
I have a lot of these. Most are for really stupid reasons, like ordering the CE and buying the game at launch because I can't wait. Terrible impulse control.
Triple purchases:
Metal Gear Solid 1 (PSX, PC, Gamecube Twin Snakes). I may even buy it on PSN so I can play it on the PSP.
doubles:
Final Fantasy 7 and 8 (PC, PSX)
Mass Effect (regular/CE)
MGS 4 (regular/CE)
Batman: AA (360 and Steam, 50% off sale)
Deus Ex (bought on Steam even though I have disc copy for PC)
Max Payne 2 (same)
Zeno Clash (had Steam version first, crashed on me, bought it on XBLA)
Mirror's Edge, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, RF: Guerilla were all really cheap on Steam when I bought them (like 5 euros apiece), own them all on 360 also.
Braid, because it's awesome (360 and Steam)
Call of Duty 4 (during recent Steam sale, wanted to play PC multiplayer or something? idk)
Alright that's not even all of them, but the big ones are there. Moral is, I'm fucking crazy. Don't be like me.
"Steam thinks I bought Civ 4 two times, I bought it once and it's on my account two times. "
One's for Mac, the other's for PC. If you check, it'll say one's not supported by your operating system.
EDIT: More on-topic.
Lumines- X-Com
- MOO
- Ikaruga (actually bought this three times, Dreamcast, GameCube, and Xbox Live Arcade)
- Rez
- Various games in the Metal Slug collection
- Various games throughout Final Fantasy's life cycle
I think I rented Super Smash Bros. for the 64 so many times that I bought it like 3 times. Mom wouldn't let me buy it.
Oblivion, GTA4, MW2, BFBC2, CoD4:MW, Tenchu Z, Mass Effect, Devil May Cry 4, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, and probable others I've forgotten about.
Ignoring remakes:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1, PSP, XBLA)
Myst
Riven
Halo (got it on the PC originally, then on the Xbox later when I actually had an Xbox)
Puzzle Quest (got it on the DS for a trip to New Zealand, and XBLA for home play and achievements)
There might be more, but I forget them if so.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion (360 and PC), Sid Meiers Pirates(loaned it to a friend, bought it again when never got it back),
I've bought Orange Box 3 times, once for my PC, and when I couldn't play Ep2 on it, I bought the 360 version, and then I bought OB again for a friend on Steam when it was $10. I've bought a number of things on Steam sales because they were cheap, Mirror's Edge for $5 despite having the PS3 version, Monkey Island for $2.50, Thief 3 for $3 (and because I didn't want to bother with disc installation again). I might buy Borderlands again for the GOTY version so I can play with a friend who doesn't have a 360 .
I'm also pretty sure I'll buy multiple copies of Duke Nukem Forever for a number of reasons.
EDIT: Forgot I own Doom 1 twice (Ultimate Doom Collection and XBLA) and Doom 2 three times (original on Mac, UDC, and XBLA)
bought them at first on PS3, sold them, then bought the PC version (steam/retail) when I got my gaming PC (had a PS3 first), and yeah, I did it for the graphics
Fallout 3
Devil May Cry 4
Grand Theft Auto 4
Street Fighter 4
Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty World At War
Resident Evil 5
Bioshock
Orange Box
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I'm gonna stick to console exclusives for the PS3 now, and just get multiplatform games on PC
i suppose Super Mario Bros. technically, since I had the AllStars Version, and the DX version for GBC.
Plants vs Zombies...... so ..................many ..................formats
Plants Vs Zombies
Beyond Good and Evil
KOTOR
KOTOR 2
Star wars Battlefront 2
The Kings Quest Series
Portal.
Monkey Island 1 & 2
I have two copies of Halo 2, two copies of Pokémon Ruby and a couple of doubles of games on different platforms. My record is however the FIVE copies of Batman Arkham Asylum I have. I have the Steam Version, the US PS3 Collectors Edition, the normal 360 version, the Game of the Year Edition and the European 360 collector's edition! That's a lot of Batmen :)
