Pay for virtual clothes? Why be chained down by such restrictions when my avatar can go all natural. :D
Have you paid real money for extra clothing on Playstation Home?
I will never, ever spend money on such things. It's complete bs that they are charging for things that should be free. The sad thing is that a lot people will spend their money on needless accessories.
"so NOBODY has paid for clothes on Home? Damn, Sony fucked up that one..."just because people on this board haven't doesn't mean others haven't.... http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/home-brings-in-1m-in-virtual-goods-user-generated-content-the/
but yeah maybe if I had money left over on a PSN card or something I'd buy clothes, but I don't even see any nice ones :/
"so NOBODY has paid for clothes on Home? Damn, Sony fucked up that one..."Maybe the people on GiantBomb have not, but according to Sony they are making a lot of money from people buying virtual items in Home:
"According to Panico, Home items have provided Sony with more revenue during the first four days of release than the PlayStation 3 video service did in its first week. And though she didn't provide any numbers, she did reveal that the top grossing in-game item was the Santa Claus outfit. Expect to see even more costumes in the future, with a focus on branded items. "You can imagine the opportunity with costumes for partnering with other companies and their intellectual property," Panico explained.Source: http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/12/24/sony-home-items-selling-like-hotcakes
"So far, no one has bought anything. Now what does that tell you Sony?"It tells them that 10 or so users on a gaming website haven't bought anything, but according to sony (as brukaoru linked) plenty of people have been buying crap in Home. Are people still buying crap now? I don't know, but I don't really care because I feel that Home would still be useless if everything was free.
