Interesting Read For Racer Fans

So it's being reported that Gran Turismo 5 is going to have a track editor, customizable go-karts and the ability to share creations with other users. 
 
Did ModNation Racers strike a bigger chord than we all realized? 
Are race fans happy with the changes or would they prefer GT5 to remain grounded as a hardcore sim-racer?

i would be happy to have track editor. customizable go karts? it seems weird to have that as it's a car racing game. i want to have a paint editor like in forza 3 that would be great to have.

Just wait until the airplane announcment.  
 
Yes Gran Turismo 5 is also a flight sim.

I think it's been in development a little longer than ModNation Racers. ;)
 
PGR4 had a track editor. Maybe it's similar to that, where you can build routes rather then tracks. I think it's great they are packing in more kinds of racing. Forza and Gran Turismo are almost not even comparable anymore which is awesome. Dirt covers some of that ground too. If this was buried in there, imagine what else is.

I would imagine that its just an empty airfield like the Top Gear test track where you can put down barriers...

The weather and damage sounds good, but i want it on all cars and all tracks.

It doesn't sound like a "complete" game but more like a cluster fuck of features mixed together! like a Pc racing game with Mods of varying quality.
