I can't even remember all the games that have made me act like Jeff in the past year, let alone my life.
I'm not sure about this idea though. Doing 9 in the NES style was really awesome, but doing another one just seems lazy somehow. It was a great idea, but I think they should either move on to newer ideas with Mega Man, or just let it go
Hm. I think Mega Man died with Mega Man 4. Every game after that had mediocre music and close to zero imagination. No drive to play them anymore. I think a lot of the love MM9 got was simply because of how straight up anachronistic it was. There was talk about how great the music was, but no. Anyone who regularly plays NES games will tell you it wasn't that great.
The last 2D Mega Man series i really got into was Megaman Zero on the GBA, but they effed that one up by the third outing as well. Inticreates really do try, but it seems like there's little method to their mayhem beyond the bare basics. Like who creates a fundamentally working grappling hook in a game and then replaces that in their next game for an awkward pogo stick, but keep the lame ass shield weapon?
So no. Not really interested. It fucks with my positive nostalgia.
I think Capcom should be careful, if they abuse that nostalgic formula too much the novelty is gonna wear off. That being said I'll probably check this out.
YES! I love the Mega Man games, especially the music. I couldn't believe my ears when the soundtrack to 9 was one of the best in the entire series. Definitely was hard to believe.
While I really loved Mega Man X-X4, I find that as long as they remain true to the roots of the series I don't mind them making more of the classic Mega Man games instead of the X series. Yeah, the X series really tapered off after X4, but man were those other games good. But in all, more Mega Man is never a bad thing. Ever.
Ah gaming magazines, whatever happened to their legitimacy (if they ever had any)?
Does anyone remember that old HotSpot episode where some guy called in and was spewing utter nonsense about some game that he claimed was coming out saying he "read about it in the magazine". I can only remember vague details about it. Jeff and Rich seemed like they were having a good time making fun of the guy.

sheep man is just a disgrace. can't wait to play this. loved all of the mega man/ x games with the exception of x7 and x8. 9 is pretty up there to my faves. seemed the easiest however to me at least.
